Great shot![]()
Did you play about & spell out some rude words![]()
Didn't your mother teach you not to play with your food :nono:
<snip>
As a bit of a self critique, since I've been looking at it, I wish I'd zoomed out a bit then cropped to the edge of the toast, but by the time I got the image on the PC, the props had gone!

lol fantastic:thumbs : genius
Brilliant idea Neil. Think you are right about zooming out a touch as I didn't realise it was on toast at first, but i don't think it matters really. Well done.
Great colors , the bit of toast showing works great though maybe cropping it out would have worked just as well....
Hi Neil
totally brilliant idea & shot for HiddenGreat colors , the bit of toast showing works great though maybe cropping it out would have worked just as well....

Brilliant Idea for 'hidden'.
I've just spent a very enjoyable 10 mins looking through your 52 to date. Good ideas and nice work!
Hi Neil, this had me foxed at first. But, then really made me smile. Great idea for the theme. Well taken photo as well.

Well caught Neil! I hope you wore your safety goggles, a piece of sharp shell in the eye![]()
Hiya Neil,
Great idea for the theme of broken
I'm not so sure about the distracting mark on the background tile.
I like how you have included some motion blur.
Would would have been great is if you could have drawn a bit of a face etc on the egg to make it look like Humpty DumptyBut as you said, there were 4 eggs harmed in this exercise so that could have taken some drawing
Photographing moving things is still something I need a lot more practice with, so sorry I can't offer too much technical advice in that regards. Funny thing is for me motion blur is pretty much hit or miss (and can be quite effective at times ... which I think worked well in my Woodland Fairy shot on my last entry to the Hidden theme).
What settings did you use for the falling egg shot?
Well done on the effort though, it surely fits the theme well.
Cheers

It's a lot harder to do than I though it would be and you've done a decent job.
I feel a faster shutter speed to really freeze the motion, even in the first one. I'd like to have seen you a bit closer as well.
Personally, I really like the rusty looking mark on the back...
Cheers.
Get closer....live dangerously...![]()

But what if I got egg on my face!

Good Work Mate... I know from my hard pic that its a lot harder to capture this sort of image than I originally shot... so well done. Just a thought to try and make it more authentic in terms of differences in backgrounds etc... could you not just try taking three shots on rapid fire mode going for a fast ISO and wide appature to get a fast shutter speed that you could get the three shots from the one egg. Your nikon should manage a few frames per sec.
Just a thought it's prob what i'd have tried first as your way seems more contrived... almost like you have thought too much but that's given you issues... maybe im well off and you tried that first though?

As Dawn has said I would have chosen a different tile for the background. And as you have pointed out yourself the base tile in the first shot looks odd with the other shots. So basically what I am saying is nothing. Well done, great capture.

Great idea and a nice triptych as well. Must say I'm in the "anti rusty mark" camp. You could have used a bit of diffused flash to help with the exposure and draw some detail out. Not sure on the amount of motion in the first shot.
Also if you try it again nominate a stunt egg and give it a quick v hot boil first, then the shell shatters like glass and using flash you can freeze bits flying off it through the air, then for the final image replace with a normal one to get the drizzle![]()
yes great idea and as dawn said shame about detail in the tile but great shot and idea![]()
Hi Neil, a great idea for the theme, from all the comments posted, I can't add anything more.![]()
I' hoping Sarah will stop enjoying this sun and post week 24![]()

Hi, Neil, I like them both.
#1 is like a jellyfish or an atomic bomb...
#2, I like the blue smoke trail. I pushed it a bit in PS and got more blue which seemed to improve, to me anyway.
Cheers.
