Daily Mandy's 365 Challenge started 17/11/13 Day 262 Added

Hiya, good work on keeping up the 365 :). I'm struggling on the internet connection here to see all the pics so can just see the ones on this page! My only feedback would be that the on camera flash (imho) doesn't help images, it gives them an 'odd' feel. With the 600D try some with a higher ISO setting rather than using the flash? I'm a huge fan of natural light photography - look for beautiful light & then shoot it!

Thanks for stopping by and looking I won't have to use my on camera flash for much longer got a proper flash on its way. And I agree I prefer natural light but I can't get out much at the moment as my motorbikes sick :'( So I am waiting for the bike shop to get in touch with me to get it collected to be fixed so not a happy lady at the moment.

Nice - looks like you've got the hang of your new flash - love the water droplet shot :)

No rush - just glad you didn't have any problems with it :) - ws it Win7 or 8 you ran it on ?

Jim

Cool - so do your postedpictures look pretty much the same on your laptop then as on your PC ?

Well I am back for a big catch up after having a few days away for the festivities with my friend in Kent. I hope you have all had a very good Christmas and got lots off nice things, as always comments appreciated.

I still have a couple more images to post but will do them later after a good nights sleep.

Yes that droplet is a stunner. This thread is coming along nicely, glad to see you are playing with flash. Have you tried taking it off camera yet?

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment, I won't to try off camera flash but I can't at the moment as I need the receiver to make it work as it's not a proper canon flash it's a yn560iii

Here i go with a quick catch up, all images taken with my 400d. If i am honest i am not feeling to happy with these shots as they are quick fill shots as i am not feeling very well :puke:

I do hope to produce better results for Saturday.

I'm liking your camera shot - including the light reflections and the shadows are nice, not too harsh but not mega soft - also really liking the way you've positioned the strap.

I love coin pics and took a canny few on my last 365, I found polorising filters quite useful in bringing out the detail in the coins. There's some awesome 50p pieces.

Only one that's not up to par IMO is the coin shot -still underexposed - I'm guessing due to metering though hard to tell as it appears to be one of an auto bracketed sequence ?

Thank you very much for saying that, I think I was lucky that the strap just seemed to fall into place nicely.

The coin shot was taken as 3 bracketed shots with my raynox 250 attached to the front off my lens and turned into a HDR but went very wrong.

Well this image has some what given me a huge headache in the pp department. This is my first attempt at doing this so please be honest but kind with the crit and comments ( i have the flu after all ) i hope to improve with my next attempt at it. This image was taken on my 600d and my flashgun was used for both images i was playing about with random settings.

sorry you're poorly Mandy -both shots look underexposed - especially the bear...

I am viewing on my iPad now and they do look very dark, will have a tweak later on I think I was rushing a little towards the end so I could get it done. I spent ages on the pop up technique trying to make that as good as possible for my first effort.

I like the pop up effect Mandy!

I agree that they're a little underexposed, this has happened a few times to me when I've done a fair amount of PP. They've looked ok to me on my "pooter" but printed or posted they're under exposed. It may be the brightness of the screen but not sure.

Hope your feeling better soon.

Thank you for taking the time to comment they did look ok to me on the computer. But I have most likely over tweaked or under tweaked something as I was struggling to breath at the time.

That's dedication!.... I'm only up to day 5 so hope I motivate myself to carry on even through distractions like being unwell etc.

Yes you could say I am dedicated or it could be daftness on my part, given I should be doing all I can to shift this nasty flu. I do have tablets etc but it's taking it's time on doing its job, so getting a good nights sleep has been out off the question for a couple off nights. Which is not helpful at all when you need to be editing.

I wish you all the very best with your challenge all you need is drive and determination, and I am sure you will succeed even with unwelcome distractions like being unwell.
