Lynton, it's a wonderful photo. Grandad must be very proud. It really fits the theme so well - people from both ends of the age spectrum. You have made a really good job of the black and white from that original.
It's certainly a lovely photo. Baby looks a little dark, especially the eyes, but the look on her face is priceless. Fantastic job in PP to black out the background. Someone would have to look very closely to tell.
Thanks for both your comments - very encouraging........... first thing Grandad Bob asked when wife turned up and said "here's something you might like Bob" was "how much does he want for it?" - well zilch/nada/£0.00 given that he cut and fitted all our kitchen worktops for us for nada - but encouraging as in someone someday will be willing to pay for something I turn out.........
more specifically to Darren - the baby's expression and the sticking out tongue caught me with this one, and Mrs S was watching casualty or some other drivel Holby enders come dancing on icedale in emmerstreet........ so I started to play....... have since learnt if I stand looking down on my monitor, its different to looking at it, or looking up at it......... agree it's a tad dark, but I have always gone for darker deeper stuff.... and I have always been a black and white guy..... in pretty much everything...maybe I should ask the mods to call me "Binaryman!"........ if you want to have a play and show me your version of it, will happily send you the orig / or my edit........ wouild be interesting to see other peoples interpretations and what would be good to them...........
As for week 8 - Chris - good pun,,
Squawk - thanks very much for your comments on week 7. Greatly appreciated.. just trying to find a trumptet to blow now!!!......... and as for what made my cogs whurr for this pic - my first thought was of a pic that ryan (ryanyboy took and put up of here of the clock in peterborough(?) cathedral - a bit of an abstract on cogs in the clocktower, made me then think of this watch (I have a few) Extra cookies on order as are chocolate hobnobs for tea in bed in the morning........ maybe £4 delivery for a 70p pack of biscuits is extravagant............
Damien - get a proper camera with some decent glass, and you can aspire to such images!
- you know i am ripping the p*** mate! I will do a sharp one, just to compare........... but not tonight - still raining, and I melt if I go outside in the dark!
