Hi all,
a friend asked for advice on getting a decent point and shoot compact. I have read tonnes of posts on this and basically I am not sure what to reccommend her.
I have ruled out the Canon G9/G10, Panasonic LX3 etc due to size and cost... and this really will be a simple P&S there is no need for manual controls. Basically they need:
1. easy to use.... full auto
2. cracking image quality
3. budget aroung £100 - £200... nearer the £100 would be great!
4. pocket sized and ...well cool looking!
I have found the following that seem to meet this:
1. Panasonic DMCTZ5 £186
2. Sony DSC-W300 £180
3. Fujifilm FinePix F100fd £163
4. Canon Digital IXUS 970 £184
5. Canon Digital IXUS 90 £163
These are all around £180 and all seem great ... for some unknown reason I am favouring the TZ5 - probably due to the fantastic optical reach. Any advice or opinions? Is there anything cheaper that you'd recommend (Fuji f50d?).
Thanks.
