I've looked but so far not found any posts referring to my problem. I've tried to contact Adobe Support but so far they remain silent. I'm not expecting a solution here but would just like to know if anyone else has had the same problem and might point me in the direction of a solution.
I am running an iMac with El Capitan 10.11.4 and when prompted to update Lightroom CC (2015) in Creative Cloud, it returned an error. After several attempts over the past week or so, I decided to consult the Adobe Support site. Without going into the details, I reached a stage where the advice was to uninstall LR and reinstall. My big mistake was to follow this advice! This failed and continues so to do. The result is I have no LR CC now. Also, as I am in a region with no landline broadband service, I find I have used up ⅔ of my monthly mobile broadband allowance trying to get LR CC to download. Therefore I cannot risk more download attempts or I will have no broadband allowance left! I am waiting for a response from Adobe Support but I suspect they will simply refer me to the same procedures I've already been through.
Fortunately I still have LR5 and full backups of the original photo files and catalogues.
Any pointers from fellow sufferers will be much appreciated.

Without Broadband freely available you might struggle, there is a 'tool' to completely clean CC off of your computer and start all over again, I had to use this once when having a problem (though Win not Mac) ... it might be worth using the CC Cleaner and re-installing all of the software.
Alternatively can you roll back LR by selecting the option in the CC Desktop?

Many thanks for the quick respose! I'm not on the iMac just now, but iPad, so I can't check your suggestion just now. Is roll back something in the CC desktop menu?
I'll search the internet for the CC Cleaner tool.
Really appreciate your suggestions. (Also I'm seriously considering sattelite broadband as I'm limited to 15 GB with Three Mobile but have 11 months contract still to run.)

Thanks, I'll start working on this. Your advice has encouraged me greatly! Now if I can just squeeze out the remaining megabits in this month's allowance!!

my money would be on something getting corrupted during the download. mobile internet probably isnt ideal for such a high internet demand app like CC.

Any way you could take the computer to work/friends/relatives to use a better internet connection?

Thanks, Neill, for taking the time to comment. Actually my broadband mobile connection is currently running at just over 15 mb/s, which should be enough for most software app downloads. I'm lucky in that the mast is nearby and demand in this area is not so intense, so I usually get a decent signal. I'll leave my next attempt to restore the previous as advised by gramps until towards the end of the period and try again, in case my allowance runs out.

I'm afraid I've had no success trying to re-install Lightroom CC (2015) or the roll-back option, after going through using the Cleaner Tool etc. I've been using my wife's broadband allowance, but I've had to be careful with that! I've decided to abandon Creative Cloud and cancelled my subscription, which will lapse at the end of this month. Even though it's costing me a cancellation fee, I think it's better than flogging a dead Adobe Support horse. Adobe Support took some days to respond and offered nothing different to what I've already tried. So I've fallen back on LR5 and Elements 11.
Thanks for all your help and just a pity I haven't been able to make it work.

Sorry to hear this, very annoying for you :(

Just to complete the story, my Adobe subscription lapsed last week, following my decision to no longer use Adobe Cloud monthly subscription. Luckily due to an earlier new camera purchase which included a LR6 offer, I registered for this and downloaded LR6. There were no hiccups, but it did take 1.2GB of my monthly allowance. I can relax now. :)
