Is that running a dual monitor setup in LR4?
Is that running a dual monitor setup in LR4?
I'd like to understand how people are using LR with twin monitors as I just don't seem to 'get it'. All the options I've tried add so little to my workflow that I've been using the other monitor for keeping an eye on my email, selecting music, etc.
You can use the second monitor on the grid setting, this means that you can see all the images in the set without having to leave the develop module to the library module. Well that's what I use it for anyway.
There is a definite pause before the Develop module opens.
Only when Develop is used for the first time; it was the same with LR3.
Re-opening Develop is almost instant.
weird.. not like i have a slow machine or owt![]()
I think LR4runs just as quick if not faster than LR3. I can't comment on using it dual screen, although I do use a multi screen setup the others are used to watch movies whilst editing lol
No, it was NOT the same with LR3.
In fact, IS NOT the same with LR3!
Errm - now I'm confused.
So with LR3 you go no pause entering Develop, even for the first time?
And with LR4 you are getting a pause every time you enter Develop?
I presume you are referring to the Develop toolbars appearing and not the 'Loading' message displayed when either zooming to 100% (also get it if LR is configured to skip preview generation).
All I can say is that both my PCs are the same (medium spec Windows 7 desktop and a crappy Vista laptop).
LR3 and LR4 have a sizeable pause the first time Develop is entered. Re-entering Develop is almost instant.

There is a definite pause before the Develop module opens.
Otherwise no other speed problems.
Any issues with CS5?
Using ACR6.6 or 6.7RC
for those of you that have it - LR 4.1 is out to address some of the bugs.
That's good news, hopefully wending its way to me, I just tried to update and it says no updates available![]()
It's only the Release Candidate, not the full release - that usually follows in short order...
