I use the Hoya HD. Hardened glass, with even more of the juicyness of the pro-1's. Expensive, but I sit in the 'filters are good' camp, and I love the fact that you could just about swing a hammer at the front of these and they'd survive.
Hoya make the best filters in the world, and the HD's are Hoya's best filters. Lens hoods are fine, but you only need one indiscretion when you weren't using it [you might call it the 'Boris Becker' phenomenon]... As someone who came off his bike on one of the only occasions I wasn't wearing my leathers....
Having said that, I've also a lot of respect for Kood, which are the exact opposite in terms of price, but which seem to punch above their weight.
