Why not call them?
I'll be leaving other people to sort this out and drive to Felixtowe![]()
Where are these made then?
Anyone know? I thought the warehouse was south England and the outlet was north England - maybe I've become confused though? Or is the warehouse out of stock also?
I don't know what you mean by lack of rapid response, but repairs are carried out in the UK, at the Lencarta workshop, but normally goods within the warranty period are just exchanged - no waiting that way.No big deal, although a little uneasy now at the lack of rapid responses one usually gets. I'm wondering what happens if there's a problem with the equipment - is it fixed in the UK or somewhere far away?
I understand that the case and rear panel is lifted from Junbei, but the rest of it is supposed to be German and Japanese parts. I was just wondering where the assembly happened as I'm guessing it's not in the UK seeing as it's stuck at a port in the UK.

To clear up David's confusion...from what gary says everything (casings/machinings/production) is the same as jibei flashes (they sell the same lencarta bags but with dif tags) but the electronics are meant to be different inside....
To clear up David's confusion...
The lights are assembled by Jinbei to Lencarta's spec. The casings and control panels are supplied by Jinbei, flash tubes, capacitors etc are not. Some of the accessories are manufactured by Jinbei, some are not.

I'm not sure what this means. The office is in E. Yorkshire, I'm in W. Yorkshire and the warehouse is in Basingstoke. All goods are of course despatched from the warehouse.

Sometimes this place is like reading the Sun, build them up and then for no reason swipe them down.:nono:

But that's not much good is there're often supply problems
TBH it's the main reason, when I was looking for portable lighting, I didn't go with them as they're regularly out of stock, not much good if something breaks and you need quick replacement.

Ah well, I'm afraid I need lighting gear for a Monday shoot so I've ordered elsewhere now, was taking a little too long for Mr Impatient here! Not to worry though, perhaps another time. Thanks for the feedback etc though.
Cheers.![]()
That isn't actually the problem you think it is. Running out of stock is a problem and it's a problem that shouldn't happen - I not only accept that but I say it too...
But it doesn't affect repairs. Firstly because although any items in need of repair are usually exchanged, they are then repaired and are available for the next customer who has a problem, and secondly because the last items in stock are always kept back in case of need, they are never sold.
Does anyone own the Lencarta Background Support and could comment about it's quality and quality for the money?
I have the Lencarta Air Cushioned Light Stand and think that's excellent quality, does anyone know who it may compare in quality to the background stands?
No, it means that in the very unlikely event that quite a lot of customers all have a problem with the same model at the same time, Lencarta might run out of replacement items and would have to send a loan item. Not to be pedantic but does that mean the first person who needs replacement (and there is stock) gets a new one but the next might (if no new stock) get a repaired previously returned item?

What widths can you have this set at? 3m is too large for most instances, so would be looking to cut it down in size to less than 2m.
Looks like most of the Lencarta Kit is back in stock. Just ordered me a background stand.
I just got mine to...with a whole buch of liggghhhtttss!!![]()
Garry will be out of stock again then very soon LOL. Plenty of packing for him or the Lencarta team to get all the goodies shipped asap. Stop watches at the ready, go, go, go (in a Murry Walker style)....
lol Yes he was telling me there is a lot of orders, he said a lot will get posted tomorrow, if not then Friday.
I can see mine being friday as I ordered quite late today.
