The TP52 - 2026 LC2's Shoe Horns for 2026: Week 12 - Daily Life

That's a different take on the theme Tim and a nice big splash too.
Ta
Nice. Perfectly timed, and I like the boldness of the bus against how dull the surroundings are.
I did shoot several buses to get this shot
Great splash! Love the bright colours of the bus, the icing on the cake would be someone getting splashed but then that would be a bad day for them.
I'm pretty sure that if anyone had been there, they would have crawled through.

That's a great shot Tim, the colours, the composition, the whole concept, spot on.

Love it, the vibrant colours of her outfit, contrast really well against the dull greys and black of the railings and buildings. I also like the engagement of the lady.

Nice :)

Nice shot Tim,

"how big ?" No wonder she has a tear in her eye.

You have popped the colours really well.

Yup, she's looking through!

I love that blast of colour against the shades of grey.

I might have been tempted to desaturate the yellow thing in the background, but it's no big deal.

I think that's a great image - really striking! The only thing I can't decide is whether I'd have preferred the zone of sharpest focus to be the models eye, or whether the fence / gloves being pristine works best! Either way - nice work!

Perfect Tim!
:)
Great colours
:)

Ta. I like doing shots like this, it's something different from the norm.

Laurita is always fun to work with.
:)
Lovely! Colours stand out and her expression and pose work nicely.
:)
Great shot - as said above the pink really helps in this and I do like the blurry feel to the left as whatever it is is 'dirtying' the frame.
I believe it is another, much closer, railing iirc.

hehee.
I didn't need to play with the colours much at all, the outfit was pretty vibrant.
Strong shot, great colour contrasts
:)

I felt it added a little more colour tbh, but I do know where you're coming from.
Love the colours of this one :) It really pops

It's an old EF 85mm f/1.8, you get what you get ;)
I prefer to get the expression / engagement than worry whether the eye is pin sharp (if I was worried, I would have shot at f/4 rather than wide open). I do have a couple of others where the focus is more on her face/eye, but I tend to prefer this one :)
Very striking image love the colours
:)
Such a vibrant shot!
:)

You've spotted that well, it doesn't look like a big puddle.
It wasn't :)
I think it works, simple and to the point.
Thanks
Ticks the box for me. Good spot!
Ta
I know you've called it a PABD, but I like it. I'd up the contrast mind (or drag the black slider down) in post to give it a bit more punch. But I think it works well.

There may have been a fair bit of treatment already given to it ;)

Very well spotted and a good angle to capture the sign, worth a soggy knee.

Week Eight - Vintage Objects

This is objectively a terrible photo, but I wanted to try it to see how far I could push it.
Shot at about 23:30, with next to no light (not even moonlight as it was wet & cloudy).
SS of 1/500th (to avoid motion blur as I knew the shot would be of a moving loco.
F/1.8 on an EF 50mm
ISO 80000 (yes eigthy thousand).

Processing needed to be done carefully to avoid massive noise artifacts as soon as you started to push anything.

I think the best that can be said for this shot is that something was captured.

Anyway, enough waffle, here is it in it's full "glory" :runaway:

Nice! Canadian Pacific? Watercress Line? A friend of mine photographed it at the weekend.

In the circumstances, it turned out well.
It's really smeary. The exhaust looks like a long exposure sea/waterfall, which at 1/500th it really shouldn't.

Yes, CanPac at Ropley on the Watercress Line.
We had just run back ECS from Alton after the evening's RAT had finished and the crew were just about to put her away.

It has its issues as a photograph it almost looks like a painting in parts and it fits the theme.

'has it;s issues; is an understatement. That said, it's amazing that it got anything really, and that that much was recoverable. Maybe I should put a link up to a copy of the .CR3
Hey it meets the theme.
Well there's that ;)

Meets the theme and interesting subject and for 80,000(y), best not to zoom in too much:)
