I think just over the line for damp Tim. Not sure if I really get the "wicker chair on the head" concept though :D

Nice bright colours and reflections Tim, ditto Bebops comments.

Pete

Those colours certainly pop, and the damp table works

Fab colours and reflection, and no-one will question the damp theme with the droplets on the table, especially to the keeper of the scrolls :ROFLMAO:

Cheers all. It was good to get the reflections done (1st tech I think I've done in a year !!!!) and the shoe horning for damp wasn't as much as I often go for ;)

Week 10 - Seen Through a Window

Oh my... No Shoe horn needed for this one !!!

Our model was Mariella. Viewed through a window in a bus stop just off of Sloane Square.
I quite like the reflections I've captured in this shot too.
And looking closely, there is an advert for wildlife photographer of the year.

That does the job nicely - and the tech too.

Nice shot Tim, I thought that she was a mannequin until I read your commentary.

I really like this shot, just the right balance of seeing the reflection and the model. getting the photography exhibition advert in is a bonus! Leaving the buildings at the edge helps show what we're looking at.

An effective image - and the reference to Wildlife Photographer is a nice bonus.

That’s just great Tim. I like that it shows the surroundings for context too.

Great image that ticks all of the boxes!!

I think you've won....... WPOTY. :D

I like that, there's an interesting subject amount all the chaos.
WPOTY - lol. Though I'd not want get her livid.

Cheers Everyone. I must admit I do like this one.
All the other togs were the pavement side. I wanted something different :)

I love the colours. Her pose looks like she might have been thrown out of a pram :) Do you have to direct the models, or did she pose herself?

The colours were what drew us to the spot, I've got a great shot of Ale behind this, peaking out using the hard light to cast shadows across her face.
Generally the models pose how they want, but there is some direction and we'll suggest spots to pose in.

Thanks Tim. I wouldn't have a clue, but she looks like she knows what she's doing. She looks fab and I like the framing.

They happen weekly (more or less).
You'd be fine. It's very easy going.
Oh wow! I thought they were special conventions.
I hope you don't mind if I store this in my mind for something to do one day. It would be a great experience. I have an 'as yet' unused railcard too... actually I need to check it hasn't expired.

Very cool take on the theme Tim, great colours and composition.

Nice shot Tim, it might even work for "unusual"...

I like it.
Good composition.
Thanks. I thought it worked quite well.

Probably not an unusual shot for me though...
A different interpretation on the theme Tim. Nicely done too
I managed to get some flowers in it. I felt this was far far less of a shoehorn than is usual for me ;)
Nice shot (as always) Tim. Works really well for the theme.
Cheers Simon.

Wow what a sight (and site!) for Bottles. So different for the theme, and nicely captured.

Flora - I like the composition and that her outfit appears to have pink hydrangeas on it too!

I thought you might have been grabbing an unusual shot at the weekend.... which actually either of the above would satisfy too.

That's an interesting shot Tim, I think hat there would be a lot to explore at that site (if you could get access).

The question is, what is an unusual photo for me? (Though actually I do think I have one).
The Brewery in Bottles has been closed for 7 years I think, but the demolition, certainly to this extent, is recent. I suspect it won't be left standing at all in a couple of weeks. I took the shot from the train, and traveled over the same bit of line 6 times to make sure I got something I could use.
Yes, the dress did have a flower pattern. I would have no idea what they were though ;)

I believe security has been pretty tight the whole time it's been closed. not sure I'd fancy trying to explore in it;s current state.

I can smell the heady mix of heavy oil and steam coal...

The red and gold is nicely placed in the frame, and I love the context with the wheels behind and the ... erm thingy arm leading you through the picture :)

I agree that a lot of your shots are unusual for the rest of us, but perhaps not for you :) I think that bottle shot will be a great record for the future. I kick myself when I think of all the missed opportunities when I lived in Liverpool and worked near the docks before they were renovated... ooh that doesn't sound very good does it?:LOL:

Looks good - this would be Hi-tec in its day.
It would indeed.

I'm not actually sure what the slide bar is really called either :)

There are definitely record shots that you don't realise you should take until the opportunity has passed.
I used to ride my motorbike past the Victoria Station carriage sidings on my way to work and each day there would be old slam door stock.
I decided that after Christmas I would take some shots of them (as I knew I was getting a reasonable PoS camera). Unfortunetly it seems that that was the end of the year that they were withdrawn from service and I didn't ever get the shot :(

Technology - love the colours and the DOF, good choice
Unusual - I think this is a also a good choice Tim, I'm thinking that I would have liked the image to be a little more to the right. I don't know that the left side adds anything but the man on the right certainly adds some more complexity to the shot.
