Same as lots of other things. eg, Leica & Apple's products............ the list is almost endless.
Does choosing style & form, over practicality, necessarily make anyone gullible? Maybe.
Perhaps not, no, but choosing it based on the claims that it won't damage the hair like "lesser" hairdryers, does.![]()
