Ladies please. Would you pay £299 for a hair dryer?

I thought that too, but a colleagues wife worked for dyson a d was given one when she left as they were emigrating to Australia. He brought it in. I have to say I was impressed with the drying capacity, very quick at drying.

One of my friends has tried this dryer. Her words... "Don't see what all the fuss is about"
It is not for her then if she can't appreciate what it is. Which is fair enough.

I've seen one in action this evening.
I too can only see it being attractive to the gullible.
It's a hairdryer.
Other than that it's merely an expensive hairdryer.

LOL Thanks for that.

Same as lots of other things. eg, Leica & Apple's products............ the list is almost endless.
Does choosing style & form, over practicality, necessarily make anyone gullible? Maybe.

Perhaps not, no, but choosing it based on the claims that it won't damage the hair like "lesser" hairdryers, does. :-)

Surely If those claims are made by the manufacturer, they must have been proven? (false claims & advertising etc)

Like Nivea?
Nurofen?
L'oreal Q10?
Dyson's own original ad for the bladeless fan?
Et al....
All have had ads withdrawn for false advertising.
Give it time. :-)

It depends. If the dryer comes with a five year guarantee. Then yes. I myself bought a curler worth 120 last week..but wait. They get to make my hair 5 times for free, and it comes with a three year guarantee. Of course i had to hide the receipts away from my fiance..or else he is going to change his mind about marrying me. The curler is so Tiny!

Functionally, are the differences worth 10x the price? Probably not.
Is the build quality worth 10x the price? Probably not.

Would I spend as little as £29 for a hairdryer for my other half? Probably not.

I sure as dog mess wouldn't spent £299 on one either.
