La Machine - Now with Pics on page 2 and an updated schedule

Well... I'll post some pics... in a week... after the event... har har!

TBH, if you search for it on the internet, you'll find it. Some idiot posted photos on some forums, then got flamed for it as it spoiled it for the readers of the forum.

I'd recommend not to search though, it'll spoil the excitement of not knowing what it was, shame that my mate sent me a pic of it when i didn't want to know what it was, he just 'told' me. It's really gonna be something, and from what i've heard, you NEED to be in Liverpool for when it appears on the friday... Road works haven't been occurring for no reason ;).

It's my birthday on Friday, plus I'm off work, and I have every intention of being there

If only to kick you up the arse for mucking me about! :D

I think now that its in the public realm we can post photos of it. Its on TV, the radio, the papers and Flickr.

This definately looks like something special. Il be there on the 5th. :D

I just got back from checking it out, apart from i chose the time to be in liverpool when it was heaving it down.

Found out by luck that my camera bag is waterproof, and in actual fact, wii fit is in stock in liverpool if you know where to look. Don;t think that the shop will have any in bar the bundles though (Gamestation).

Oh, and i'll post a pic of what i saw, i even got some bracketed shots, but i was hand holding, in the rain, at 120mm..

Its a 50ft tall spider! Ok so it looks small there but remember that spiders always have really long legs. I’ve seen this with its legs out and its big. Some stats. It weighs 37 tonnes. Its 50 feet high. 50 hydraulic axes of movement. Its made from steel and reclaimed poplar. It moves, it does move, at 2mph and took 1 year to build. There will be 7 different special effects. Water, flame, smoke, wind, snow, light and sound. I’m going to take my G9 to get a movie, its too big an event not to, but given the other 2 bodies I’ll have I may get lost in the viewfinder and forget to make a movie. Oh for a Nikon D90.

:( You must've got there when it was early, and not piddling it down with rain..

it was grey and horrible when i got there, working nights suck.

That was around 10ish. Turned bad by about 11. Sun seems to be coming out now. I'll be down around 7:30ish later for the search lights and sunset.

I really fancy going after work to get some shots in the dark with it lit up.

I'd probably end up getting into liverpool at about 2:30am, anywhere free to park at that time do you know pete?

If i read correctly, it's going to be lit up all night.

All the normal road side car park bays are free after 6pm. Theres a few spots on the road between Lime St Station and the Empire. You should be able to park there fine. Doubt anyone will care at 2am :)

I've just got back - this thing is awesome. Remember, folks, its still got its legs folded. When it gets walking its going to be amazing.

Its coming down between 1130 and 1230 tomorrow and will be taken to the lab at the arena.

You can see the scientists abseiling down to take a closer look.

looks awesome! Wish I was nearer.

I'm going Friday I've decided...and spending the day there!! If the misses gets bored she can get the train back on her own :D

Well, i was there tonight, rolled into liverpool at about 1am, took some shots, and came home.

One that came out ok was this one

Not the best, but i found it really hard to get the right settings on a bright subject with a really dark background, and with the flashing advertisment screen next to it also.

Oh, and i praise Merseyside police, they stayed near me the whole time i was next to lime street, as there was a drunk man hovering around me.

As soon as he went, they left :)

Just spent a while teaching myself HDR, and came out with this, i'm pretty pleased :)

Haven't been able to get there as yet, wanted to get an initial shot but coulden't (just moved into my new house).

Gonna head over tomorrow and Saturday probably...they look like the best days anyway :D

Saw this in the paper and looked awesome. Knew petemc would be on the case for a photo:thumbs:

says on the radio that the scientists discover eggs in the tower and it is razed to the ground on Sunday by the demolition company!!!!...NO WAY!

It looks like it could be in the next Transformers movie. Awesome. I really want to get down to see this on the weekend.

I doubt it'll be going anywhere all that quick being right next to the train station!!

Just back from seeing this at dusk. Tomorrow is going to be something else. Easiest way to describe it. Its like a real life special effect. Its like being in a film but its right there. When this thing gets up tomorrow.... oh baby. People are going to go wild.
