Damp Street retouch by Kell Lunam-Cowan, on Flickr1st shot for damp is a cracking image as not fussed about 10,000 iso, it makes me think of an old Hitchcock movie. Might look good in B&W too.

Thanks Dave - I originally processed it in Black and White but...
Here's a screen shot of the B&W
- I've been doing that a lot lately and it felt like I was going down a well-trodden path.
- Even though there isn't much colour in it, the3re was just enough (IMO) to keep it as shot.

I do really like this image, cannot get Anton Karas's Harry Lime theme from the Third Man out of my head. It's very atmospheric and in B&W, without the distraction of the car lights, the faux gaslights and the railings become a tunnel that draws you down to the man.
I have to say the fun of the themes is to go out and take the image after it has been set.
Have to say that I like the laundry one more than the street ones.
Having said that, it's a like MORE rather than a dislike for the street ones which work very well (IMO). As you say, the Nod (you said it first!!!) goes to the first one with its extra head detail. I think the exposure's pretty spot on for the scene and the high ISO noise adds to the grittiness too. Fills the technique brief too!
First one is best IMO. I like the gritty feel and the flagged reflections certainly say damp.

Now that one I do love, makes it more Hitchcock and eerie.
Yep - good shots but the mono does it for me![]()

Definitely the street ones for me - I see enough washing ha ha!
These are lovely shots for the theme. I love the reflections in the wet pavement. Top one for me as you can see the figure better.
A quality Image for theme and tech.
I think you've taken a great picture that fits the theme and tech really well. The high ISO adds to the grittiness as others have said.
I'm torn between the b&w and the colour versions. I like both but, for me, I am leaning towards the colour.
I love this low key shot... it really is atmospheric. The colour version has the edge for me.
Nice image that fits the theme really well. I prefer the B&W without the car, it has a real 'gritty' street feel to it, and is sort of timeless. Nicely done
3rd Man and the "You're never alone with a Strand" fag adverts. Shades of the end of Cassablanca too but with puddles!
