You can't trust a cat - ours is exactly the same. Birds too - as soon as they see the camera.... :LOL:

Good set, it is very unusual, had a quick google to try and find the thinking behind it but nothing found except it went missing for 20 odd years
 
All great options for this week, I quite like your 3rd pic too but think you made the right choice with Chopin

Did not know that.

I was going to try and find out why the Nelson Mandela statue is where it is. Came back with this little nugget.

At the time of the bust’s placement here, Mandela had widespread support among the British public, but racist hate groups repeatedly attacked the sculpture. Just over a year after it was unveiled, it was destroyed with fire.

Walters was commissioned to cast a new version, this time in bronze. The new Bust of Nelson Mandela was installed in 1988 on a taller plinth. This is the version you can see when you visit us now.

Some verticals to enjoy for week 22

This building in the background is almost complete I think. Opus just on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge

But I preferred this as I guess if you're using pile driver, it definitely pays for it to be VERTICAL.

Like both shots Maybe prefer the first shot as lots of interest, people, like the shadow and looking into the windows of the building. I see you sneaked a crane in as well :)
 
Week 23 - BARK

When I saw the theme, I knew what I wanted to shoot. Given time, I'd love to go back here and capture this properly, but I was cycling to work, and only had my iPhone.

Unfortunately, I didn't have camera with me this morning and nor did I catch them in time. But as you cycle up Horseguards parade, you can often hear Drill Sergeants BARKING out orders.

It's a bit of a Post-and-Be-Damned.

Very good take on the theme! Maybe a future challenge to time it well with your camera, but it certainly works this week
 
Wow, some great shots here Kell. I really like the b&w street shot. I would have been tempted to use the first concert shot for my snappers shot, the grain in the image s awesome and the energy in the image is compelling.
 
Weeks 27 and 29.

Went away to Bucharest with work. I, stupidly, took my Sony A7 but no battery charger, so this is one of the few shots I got before it died. Other than that I took my Minolta X-500 and Black and White film which wasn't great for the VIBRANT theme, so used my iPhone for that one.

DESERTED

The hotel was directly opposite the CICLOP building. It used to be a car park - despite the façade on the front. But has been deserted for years.

VIBRANT

Had less than an hour of time to see some of the city and, as mentioned above, only had a B&W film camera with me so took this on my iPhone. It's the Umbrella Restaurant in the Old Town.
