Critique required Kell's 52 for 25 - Week 51 and 52.

Yep - that's a belter :)

Good set for shadows and your chosen shot is as above - a belter, the cobbles really add to the shot. Only crit would be the metal? bit on the left about a 1/3 of the way up but still a great shot.

I know what you mean, it would be cleaner without, and nowadays a matter of seconds to remove.

Great weather for shadows Kell, I think that you chose the right shot and your processing is spot on!

Loving that Shadow image Kelly, edit really helps as well. Snappers choice is good as well with the contrasting blue of the sky with reds of the brickwork, nice job.

Oops! Sorry my bad Kell, it's me on auto pilot with my typing. I've been typing out a lot of letters today having to use my legal name and you'd never guess but its Kelly, muscle memory has a lot to answer for...

Nice shot, like the different building styles and blue sky. Lots of cranes though :)
Actually with the number of cranes there it looks pretty impressive(y)

Week 16 - After the Rain

Sony A7i + Minolta 50-135/3.5

Nothing much to add here really. Tried a few options but didn't like any of them as much as this. I'd have liked to be able to get closer as this is a heavy crop from a MFD of 5ft away, but I didn't have any other kit with me to enable that.

Very nice image Kell...sorry for my past comments about cranes...

It's all good.

It helps to have other perspectives on it. As I think I said somewhere, I've changed my mind about stuff like that over the years. In the past I would try and crop or clone it out to make the image look more perfect, but now I think I prefer to leave a lot of stuff in as it reflects reality.

I may well change my mind again in the future. ;)

Week 17 - detail from the famous bright yellow stairs at the Southbank.

Sony A7i + Minolta 50-135

It's these stairs for reference - though it might not have been this particular set. I did think about reusing this image, but decided to go and shoot something fresh. (There's another one of those pesky cranes @Darkslinger)

Nice context pic and nicer detail :)

Good one Kell, I really like the selective colour of the first image.

Nice detail and shadows in your chosen shot, needs the reference shot for context. Not sure about the border- bit of a marmite thing :)
(Won't mention the crane-oops :))

The frames actually come from me uploading images to Instagram. I export them in a square frame so that I can put pano, portraits and landscapes in the same post. I then just crop in in Flickr.

I have to say, I'm also never sure what the 'best' way is to display images. On white, on black, with a border, without...

Like the mirror and the shot, maybe would have worked a bit better with the blinds closed?

a really good black and white conversion and even better on Flickr.

Week 20 - symmetry.

Been a bit slack on the photo front the last few weeks as I've been cycling to work again. so no camera, and normally no time to stop and take pics. This morning I got the tube, and typically it was a grey, overcast day. So a couple of shots on the iPhone from the tunnels.

Converted to B&W even though I already have the B&W tech ticked. Preferred the last one as the selective colour picks out the only bit of the pic which is in symmetry.

A nice set, and I really like your chosen shot. The colour pop is a good idea.

You may want to check your link on the main page - I couldn't see one.

Nice set Kell, think you picked the right shot. Like the punchy colour

A striking symmetry image Kell. Keeping the red was a great choice. Perfect.

Week 20 - Light and Dark

Wanted this one to work, as our jet black cat was sitting in the sun for ages. Of course, as soon as i got my camera, he effed off, so I only got the one shot.

Then my wife brought home some chocolate covered Brazils yesterday, so i thought they might work.

Bit of a Post And Be Damned to be honest. Just trying to not get too far behind.

The choccies in black and white for the tech :)

That's a good one Kell, my dog pretty much does exactly what your cat did.
