Critique required Kell's 52 for 25 - Week 51 and 52.

Nice set. We go to London a couple of times a yesr (Daughter lives in Muswell Hill) but feel kinda nervous walking about with a camera at night!

I miss the Thames at night. Took me right home, thanks.

All great images Kell, the colour rendering is awesome. The shot of the Shard really grabs me.

Great colours, and reflections, especially on your chosen shot.

Great set. I am leaning towards the Shard for those golden/red tones in the river. (Maybe a couple of dust specks, one to the left of the Shard, and another less clear to the right? Or drones? Or something?)

Great set of images! I love the image of the shard - the bright Thames is unusual and makes the shot for me.

Such a great set of images, it must have been quite difficult to pick just one to submit!

All nicely exposed night shots a very good set

Thanks Allan

Cheers. I did like it because of the intensity of some of those colours.

Thank you.

Thanks Simon. I’m indecisive at the best of times, so…

Great image, keeping the subtle colour of the clock tower using the building and the lion to frame it really makes the image work. I'm torn about the crane though. it drags my eye to the left. I might be tempted to try to clone it out.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I think in the past I would have agreed and I definitely agree the image would be cleaner without it.

But London is so full of cranes at the minute (or at least it is near where I work) that it reflects reality.

I’m torn.

Great shot. The crane didn't bother me - it makes for a nice triangular composition.

I agree that it would have been nicer without the crane, but you can't have everything, and as you say, there are so many cranes, it's impossible to find a skyline shot without one!

Great colour in the sky and the clock tower. LHS is pretty busy but that's streets for you.

Nice one, Kell. Love the sky colour and the subtle colour in QEII Tower. I'm with the others about the crane jib being a bit distracting.

Without the crane.

i thought at first get rid ofn the crane then when I saw the image without the crane it looked to have lost all balance to me

I don't mind the crane at all, maybe cropping the sky a little without it would work better for the balance?
Great shot for the week, either way!

A nicely composed shot with lovely colours. I don't mind the crane at all.

I kind of like it with the crane as its also a silhouette too, a good composition.

Thanks all.

I must adit, I think it looks more balanced with the crane. But maybe that's just 'cos I lived with that shot for a little longer.

Week 07 - Through a window

Bought (ANOTHER) new (old) lens and thought I'd give it a spin this morning.

Minolta Rokkor 50-135/3.5 on Sony A7i

Took these for the theme today with the first one being my favourite.

I think I prefer it because of the way the top half is all reflection, where the bottom half is all see through.

A nice piece of work Kell. It took me a while to get my head around it!

I particularly like the second as well.

Like your chosen shot, The lower half is a bit confusing, for me, due to the slight reflection - takes a bit of working out :) .
Should give a warning about the flat prices  :$in the last picture.

Nice shots Kell :)

Love that first shot. It's an absolute cracker.

Sorry - late to the party... I prefer the silhouette shot with the crane! I think it time-stamps it in the present day, as taken by you, as all the other main subjects in shot are v old!

And as others have said, your chosen window shot is mind-boggling good - amazing sport and capture, great edit and I love the colours too

Nice set Kell. All good. I like the second shot best, but they’re all worthy.

Great pics, and I think you chose the right one for the week as you say because of the reflections - quite confusing, in a good way!
