Quick off the mark...... Nice take on the theme I like it.
Quick off the mark this week Judi... well done and a good take on the theme... nicely lit...
Thank you MandyQuick off the mark...... Nice take on the theme I like it.
Its a very good book even tho its sad Martin,Well that's a book I won't be reading, I know the ending now. Good interpretation however I find the flash a bit harsh though but then that's me and flash.
I like this idea very much. I have no crit except I would have liked to see more tears...
Lol
Thank you CraigGreat idea works for me no crit![]()
Thank you JohnSpot on theme and well lit.
Thanks Phil needed it there to block out the clutterCertainly on theme Judi, the clean, black bg works well in the first two![]()
Thank you colinVery nice take on the theme, prefer the 1st photo
thanks Mark,I like the first one, it looks more real, the second looks a little more staged.
Thanks Lynne not got to grips with my flash guns yet, used to studio lightingHi Judi
I think I'm going for #1 , looks more natural to be reading the book than looking at the camera . Just enough of a tear on her face , great black bgflash -harsh -been mentioned ....saying no more

thanks for commentingGood idea. I prefer #1 as the most natural shot.
Thank you Susie, the biggest problem was stopping her giggling the whole timeHi Judi....how nice to have a grandaughter that will pose so nicelyI prefer the first shot, as I think she looks more absorbed in her book, it looks more natural....perfect for the theme.
I'm not very good with flash and couldn't get enough power from the lights, which is now solved thank goodness, thank you for your commentsHi Judi
Sense - #1 for me as the toning seems to suit the book - just a bit more light on the rose i feel.
thanks Alan i like that one too, the book was a creamy colour and the rose yellow before i changed it to sepia
Ending - on theme and well posed. Lighting has been mentioned and I would have liked to have seen more separation between the young girl's hair and the b/g
Thank you PeterI much prefer #1 which does fit the theme better. The lighting has been mentioned but the photo has been staged nicely with no unwanted clutter.
Thanks Jason, I had a lot of trouble getting the lighting anything like right so am quite pleased with it.Ending: Hi Judi. I vote for numbere 1 also. It does look more natural. I like you thinking here, and its nice to see how you've planned and executed your idea.
Thanks Kev.Another for the first shot, nicely lit.
Thanks Craig, the actual colour is somewhere in the middle of the two wasn't sure about making it too bright, I had to clean the thing before i could do itHi Judi - I was thinking along the same lines as this, the red looks a bit dull and could do with a boast and maybe a tighter crop?
Hi Judi,
Quick off the mark with positive, my choice would be the second one with the closer crop
A literal take on the theme but effective all the same. Good work, take the rest of the week off![]()
thanks LynneHi Judi
quick off the mark with a subject fitting for the theme....preferring #2 for the more 3d angle & closer crop![]()
It fits the the theme but for me, I feel a little boost of the red and a tighter crop would work better. Sadly doesn't excite me, but well done for getting a shot in early.
2nd for me Judi, more pleasing composition wisealthough colours does look better in the 1st........... you missed a bit of oil when cleaning it though

Nice, on theme, maybe could do with a bit of a boost to the red ??
THanks AndyLiteral, sometimes really works and the minimal colour emphasises the positive.
Cheers.
I didn't notice that show how interested i was in the subject Allan, it must be a reflection as there is nothing red in thereHi Judi, first one for me as there is a red something in the BG of the second one which distracts me away from the other red thing
can you tell I know nothing about cars
the reds a lot better in the first too![]()
Ta Susie, not exciting, but its worked, and i can put my feet up when I get round with my commentingHi judi.....it's hard to make a battery look too exciting isn't it .....but it's bang on for the theme, maybe a others have said a boost on the red would give it a bit of ooomp.
