Hey, don't be downheartened, I REALLY like that shot, I like the crop you've got on it, the colours of the building[being simple, but striking] against the fun-ness of the Disney clock ace!
That works very well so don't have a downer on yourself...
The colours and position within the frame are all good and well focused...
and it fits the theme, so well done...
I like the compositon and it fits the theme well imo however, it looks a little flat to me maybe some contrast / saturation to gie it some punch
Don't think "The Late Police" would worry too much if you posted something late...these challenges are for ourselves in my opinion...I would have no worries posting something late to get the shot I wanted....
Well done for being on holiday and still thinking about the challenge
I think the thing I've got from this challenge is that sometimes life gets in the way and you have to make do with what you've got. You've managed a shot that fits the theme, I agree it could do with a bit more punch, but that's easy enough to do. Well done for getting it done and don't worry if some weeks are better than others.

I totally agree with Mark. My pic this week is 'making do with what I've got' because I just didn't have any time (ironically, given the theme!) Like you, I try to keep up every week, because if I get behind I'll be sunk! So please don't beat yourself up - there's at least 2 of us in the same boat this week.
Oh - and the picture - well done. I always think Disney Park buildings look like theatrical backdrops - not quite real - and you've caught this beautifully.
Jean
Agree entirely with the above!
The crop makes it for me!
And as for late - I'm rapidly losing it myself
Good shot John
inspiration for this week. Then it occurred to me, something that I often find very inspiring is music, and in fact my eldest is learning a number of instruments, and this has inspired me to once again get out my flute. I decided, given the size of a double bass (he's only 11, and the bass is as big as me...) that trying to get a shot of the whole thing wasn't going to work. So I used my Nifty and the Jessops flash to light it. I wanted to go for a dreamy look and feel with the processing.
Inspiration - I think you have captured the dreamy look you were after best with the mono shot. For me it's a bit too dreamy TBH.
I do like it but think you have over done the dof a tad to much for my liking. I prefer the colour one, but find the two white dots of the flash very distracting, a quick clone out and it would be much better. Overall I think it fits the theme very well and works well.

Colour works best, and lovely take on the theme. Really like the DOF in this, too.
Think I will scrap my shots I've taken and re-think for this week

Love the boosted version John, great interpretation and spot on composition.
And don´t worry about posting late or missing a couple of weeks, it happens to all of us. For Emotion I had to post a ´here´s one I took earlier´ picture as I wasn´t able to get out that week.
Inspìration - I prefer the colour version and would like a tad more DoF too, and I think we are all going to struggle with an interpretation this week if we don´t explain it first. So it fits the brief for me
Thank you DS. On Inspiration, what do you think, more DoF perhaps including the tuning key ?
ok honestly i had no idea what it was until i read what you had written :/
That said i perfer the colour version and i like the way the strings lead you in![]()
The black and white works best for me, as others have said f2 is probably a bit open for this. It well composed though, cuts across the page well.
Sorry it's taken me a while to reply - if I knew what a turning key was I'd probably say yes
Seriously though - I do think more DOF would improve it by making it a bit less abstract and able to illustrate the theme more sucessfully.
Colour for me. very good photograph. May'be a tad more DOF as well
