John's Photo 52 PtII - Week 52 (28th Dec) - Texture

:D....

Organised my my my, aren't you just!

Confusion very very good idea. Love the simplicty in colouring, very pleasing to the eye, too.

Music: . That looks beautiful, what lovely patterns!

Thanks very much Leanne

I love your music shot, just superb.:clap::thumbs:

Thanks very much Mark

I love this John. A very good week for you - and I know what you mean about it being harder when you've used similar ideas before. :bang:

The subject suits the sepia tint, imo, and gives it a 'times gone by' look. I loe the detail on the harmonica, the dof and the composition.:clap::clap:

Jean

Thanks very much Jean

it sure has been...

On top of being a painful theme.. My back has been giving me grief all week..

I've got something... it's a filler shot, and it'll have to do. I've no clue how I'm going to manage the next two weeks... it's going to get more and more busy ...

Anyway...

Conor, where's you're crowbar :naughty:

I deliberately went for a painfully short DOF using the Nifty and the Raynox to do so.

Looks great to me..especially the vivid blue text.
May have preferred to see it on an angle but that is just me.

Might be a filler, but it's bang on theme in fairness!

Thanks Conor

I have to agree...nothing wrong with this shot Sir...

Works very well...

Oh and Merry Christmas John...

Cheers Marcus... Merry Christmas

Fits the theme well and nicely done!

Thank you

It might be a filler - but it's a good one
The DOF works brilliantly and you've got the WB spot on.

Hope your back's better before christmas.

Cheers Sarah. So do I but I doubt it will be though...

Looks great to me..especially the vivid blue text.
May have preferred to see it on an angle but that is just me.

Thanks Jaz

Sometimes fillers make very nice shots and i think this is an example in point. Good work.

Thanks Ant

As soon as I saw Simon's second post I knew what I was going to do...

One more week this year... it might be late...

Merry Christmas To you all and your families

Well done on getting Pain and Health knocked on the head.

Pain: if all my filler shots had been this good, I'd be a happy bunny.

Health: spot on theme, well composed with plenty of interest and textures. I like the mono conversion and the lighting, too. And getting it done so early must fell good, too. :D

I'm sorry to hear your back's hurting. I think it's a problem shared by lots of people (including me!) so lots of sympathy and a big (but gentle) from me, and I hope you can still enjoy Christmas. :)

Jean

Thanks very much Jean. It's great getting it done and out the way... Now, it would be good to get the 52nd week theme now... and I can do that before I end up unable to access anything over xmas... but hey ;)

Thanks for the thoughts and the hug, it's linked to the cause of the BP... and not a lot I can do about it... I'll enjoy xmas, just be moving carefully ;).

Cor, you're a fast little bunny this week :D

If my 'filler' shots were this good I'd be very happy. Spot on for the theme, love the DoF and the composition too.

I too can sympathise with the bad back problem so I hope it clears up in time for Christmas.

Health is in a different league though. Composition, conversion and even the surface you've shot it on.:clap::clap::clap:

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours

Thanks very much Jill

For the bad back... it's doubtful, although it might begin to get better middle of next week, as I'm off, but it'll be back for the new year... it's stress related (muscle spasms)... not much can be done.. I was told it'd get better...

OH well done John first for your shot and working with a bad back...

Nicely done, well done for getting it out the way so early... enjoy the holidays and rest up that back as much as you can mate...

Thanks very much Marcus. the back has been like this for quite a long time now, so I just try to ignore it, and try to keep moving as much as I can to stop things seizing up.

Thanks very much Jaz.

Catch up time

Music, like this a lot. love the levitation!!

Pain, Sorry, but this doesn't do it for me.

Health, Good interesting shot and bang on theme

Happy Christmas

Jon

Thanks for the comments Jon. Pain was just that, it's a filler, so I'm not overly keen on it, but wanted to get something in. I'm quite surprised how many did like it.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Ohh Pain - I'm in two minds...I'd prefer it with two changes (sorry!) right side round and a slight great dof to allow more of the words to be seen clearly! Concept good! Execution..not, for me, up to your normal standards.

Health: I like that one - tells a story and is nicely mono :D

Hope the back's on the mend John (been there, done it, screamed with pain too :))!

Phew made it .. Year over...

But before the pic..

Thanks Tracer

John... I'll think about that for a reshoot of pain... hmm, I wonder if reshoot cards for next year count with themes from this year :D... Thanks John

Sarah... Thank you... I'm not sure what it is really... it's a bit of red cloth with gold shiny bits in, that's used at Xmas for a table centre.

The back comes and goes... should be better than it has been by the end of the week, and back to not so good for next week...

Anyway and now for the picture. Back to extreme closeups, this time to test out my chrimbo pressie.. A 360AFD, full manual control now, and that means I can use my ring flash converter jobby without issue, even in bright sunlight :D... Excellent. Anyway...

See if you can work out what it is. As for DOF, the EXIF is intact, and it was shot at f20, I've had no success with focus stacking, and I'm not sure how to make it larger...

Is it a snake??

Jon

Good to see another finisher and well done on doing the whole year :D

Loved your health shot the composition really works for me

Well done on making it all the way to the last week

And a really interesting shot to finish on! It's got a sort of volcanic landscape feel to it. The mono conversion's worked well - it really brings out the contrast and emphasises the texture.

Looks like Chocolate Brownie to me

My guess would be some sort of cake too.

Nah, its a snake!! :exit:

Thanks very much Ruth. Thanks Sarah.

Nope, it's not a snake, cake or bread :D...
