In hot water in Oz about his 2 dogs. Australian official says "He can put them on a charter flight and b****r off back to the USofA" :ROFLMAO:

Probably best to submit the full facts.

He illegally bought in two dogs that didn't go through there quarantine on his private jet.

that's what rich people do.

Why the heck should someone like this character not have to obey the rules of the country he is visiting ?

Does he have no respect for rules and regulations that have been made for a good reason - the protection of other peoples' health and well being.

Seems there's a petition now for the dogs not to be destroyed if they're not out in the given 50 hours.
Some folk will sign anything

If they were any of our dogs, they'd be dead already. IMO he's lucky to have the choice of them being simply deported.

is "deportation" available to normal dogs or just an option for dogs of the "rich and famous"

……….. presumably the "Oz League of Dogs" will sue him for putting his dogs in such danger …. another petition ……… "poor buggers"

Used to be an ad campaign in Oz for Toyota pick-ups....
LOL yes I remember but I don't think the "cow" one was ever shown here?
The dog one is the best

As for Johnny, WTF ? you would have thought someone like him would have had proper dogs :D

I'm I the only one wondering what the hell the diac officers were doing? Were the asleep in the job or something? Sure jack sparrow shouldn't have brought them, but diac should have checked him and the party.

A dog that size is easy to conceal
I know of someone who had 2 identical terriers and went to centreparcs where you are only allowed one dog.
They drugged one and hid it to get them in and out then only appeared with one at a time, got a way with it on more then
one occasion

LOL I would have thought DIAC officers are slightly better trained at recognising concealment. And not just that but that their drug detection dogs would recognise that there are other dogs or animals....

To be fair they are so used to sniffing each others arse's, the scent probably didn't register as out of the ordinary.

(that's the officers covered, as for the dogs, well they should have known better :D )

By no means an expert on detection dogs, but I would think that they should be fixed on what they are searching for and ignore the presence of another dog which
could be a distraction as with most working dogs.
I do know this in gundogs, as you can imagine quite a few pick up on shoots but rarely interact when working, they are fixed on the job in hand

Such an irresponsible thing to do - there is rabies in the States, but I believe Australia is rabies free, and he has just jeopardised that. I'm would hate to see the dogs killed, but he really has done a very stupid thing.

Wonder what has been the final outcome

I really do get thoroughly cheesed off with these 'celebrities' who think that because they are who they are they do not have to obey laws , and we should all bow down before them. Just 'cos they have a lot of money [ far more than is good for them I suspect ] they are not above the law !

If he loses his dogs because of his stupidity / arrogance so be it. If we wish to take our dogs out of the UK AND bring them back in we have to obey Rules and regulations

The dogs were flown back to the US on Friday.

Maybe they've changed the rules but we're just back from CP and there were people walking 2 or more dogs at a time. I don't even remember seeing a dog last year but there were quite a few this year.

I'm more worried about the morality of drugging pets than breaking rules.

Possibly, this was a few year back

Sedation is pretty safe is the person doing it knows what they are doing.

Safe does not equal right.
Doping a dog so they can take a little holiday?
Not fit to have dogs.

Really, so leaving your dogs stressed out in kennels is a far better option then sedating them for a couple of hours ?
Oh dear I am an unfit dog owner then, I had one dog in the past that hated long car journeys so that was exactly what I did
when we took him on holiday with us, with full vet checks and approval.
I probably did it far more often then the person I mentioned, never did my dog any harm and he enjoyed being away with
us, I know from the one time I left him he was very stressed and that was only for a couple of days..

@Gremlin
Your initial post stated that they doped the dog for no other reason than to smuggle it into Centre Parcs. My apologies. My psychic abilities don't kick in til mid morning

Yes they did ,for a very short time just to get it into centreparc and into the accommodation because they wanted their dog to be with them,
exactly as I stated, where did my last post imply any different ?
Getting out to come home was easier

Mine was sedated for a lot longer for the car journey there and back.

I've no problem with it for avoiding anxiety, but the CP thing is ridiculous. They should simply have gone somewhere that accepted two dogs.

Can't really see the difference TBH his dogs were alternatively sedated for a short time, once each, , yes he did know what he was doing
Mine is out for a few hours, and a couple of weeks later same again
Both just so we could take them on holiday with us

Mine was at far greater risk in my opinion,

Of course there's a difference.
One is to relieve or avoid discomfort or suffering for the dog. The other is purely for the sake of the owners so that they can gain access to their holiday venue of choice whilst breaking the rules.

I have already said I have no problem with the first but the second is pathetic in my opinion.

My favorite thing about the depp case was the headline the sun used " War on Terrier"

She'll get a fiscal slap on the wrist, which let's face it will barely register in the Depp household.
Prison? Nah.
Exclusion order, possibly, I would think they'll think twice about that.
As a film location Australia makes a great deal of money, and I think they'll want to keep the industry sweet.

I'll accept anything that makes them realise they are not such very important folk that they are above the Law

Well - dunno how Australia would normally deal with this

Helps if you read the article: "the actress could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of 102,000 Australian dollars (£48,000)."
