Just thought I'd post a small rant and maybe warn others about what to expect.
A couple of years back I bought a Sony A55 and at the time took out extended warranty on it from Jessops. Seemed like a good idea at the time. And all was well until a few months ago when I dropped it and damaged the in-built stablisation and GPS. Luckily I have been using it until I managed to buy my D700 since I was planning to go FF anyway.
So I send it off to get fixed and it's been with them now for over 6 weeks. Rang them up to chase and it will be another 3-4 weeks due to parts issues.
Now I'm doing more pro work, I certainly cannot afford to be without a camera (even backup) for nearly 10 weeks. But even as a hobbyist, that's a pain in the backside.
