JD's 365.

I've given up completely on the management of my work, useless. I was supposed to receive my redundancy offer today, but it's now delayed to Monday. It's not like it's important or anything...I really should have expected it, it's taken them over a year to get to this stage.

Funny that was an ongoing thing for me, next month, next week, week after, tomorrow, the day after, etc...... Fingers crossed for Monday.

BTW: Those are some Awwwww eyes you captured on Sasha :)

Thanks mate, the "proper" management are based in Dublin, our HQ. They were all out on a training course, so couldn't make any decisions about how much etc. Nice to see where their priorities are. :cuckoo:

Day 247. Beware!!

3887940268_f9a19e2d55_o.jpg

Strobist info: Sb900 remotely fired directly behind bottles at a -1.7ev setting on a 24mm zoom. On board flash used as "fill" on a -0.7ev setting.

Lazy work day, I am not breaking my back any further for this company! :) I'd actually forgotten about the shot today, so this was a rushed attempt at showing how easy remote flash is with Nikon. I love it, it just works!! If I was to attempt it again, I'd try to soften the on board flash, looks a bit harsh. Will have more speedlights to play with soon!!

EDIT: Merv's done something similar, but mines better. :p

I like that, with the out of focus window in the background adds a bit extra to the shot too ;)

Cheers Julian, I had a few ones that filled the frame, but I preferred this one. Thinks it f/2.8 1/200 ISO 200.

I spent the majority of last night importing a entire hard drives worth of shots into LR. Processed a few, but mostly it made me realise how far I've come on in 16 months. I now predominantly use my camera in manual. Even for motorsport. Unless the light is very changeable, then I use shutter priority.

I found this shot from a few months ago, was one I completely skimmed over. B&W has just made it. :D

Wow Jonny I think 247 is a fab shot! Would look ever so slightly better in B&W with the bottle and lit part of the table in colour.

Gonna have to try something like this - I don't flash as nearly as often as I should!

Really good mate.
But I made it harder for myself by making it a SP at the same time don't forget ;)

Check Flashinthepan's for sale thread mate, He's got a lighting set up (Minus the flashgun)

Day 248.

Jaeger inspired hangover, slept in massively. Then spent the day with "gran on speed" shopping for her new TV. Ended up with a LCD 32" Samsung. So spent the majority of the afternoon building granny's new TV cabinet and setting it up. I also cleaned and polished my mums car, as a sort of birthday treat for when she comes back from holiday.

So, just a spider today. They don't move, which makes hangover fuelled macro photography easier. :D

Your nan sounds fab!

Nice spider, im feeling very brave today, either that or just more stupid than normal :D

You've seen that many on my thread that you now immune!! :D

Hey sweet macro Jonny - great colours in the bokeh going on there :)

Thanks Dave, I've finally got my head around the macro lens DOF. Took a while!!

Reckon that's your best shot yet of your pet spiders, nice one. As Dave says, colours and Bokeh are lovely.

Day 249. Portrush Airshow.

Was decidedly put off going to this when I saw the weather forecast last night and the weather this morning when I woke up. But, I'm persistent and normally aren't one to go back on a plan. So, off we went!!

We got that heavily soaked this morning while waiting that we decided to call it a day and head home. It brightened up a bit and the rain stayed away for about 3/4 of an hour and this is what I got. Didn't see any jets, which was a shame.

As you can see the light was shocking, a perfect overcast rainy Norn Iron day. :D We stayed and watched these guys and the wing walkers then the rain came on a bit heavier. Time to go home!! :)

Meant to say that while these were in the air I had a complete absence of any brains at all. Shot them all wide open at f/5.6. I'm convinced I could have got away with at least f/8 and ISO uppage to enable the shutter speed. I also wish I'd slowed the shutter to introduce a bit more prop blur. Thankfully I don't photograph planes very often, this was the first time. :D

Nice shot. Prop blur looks fine to me :)

When ive been to an airshow with the camera ive always wished i did something different but just trying to get the things in the frame is enough for me on the day

I actually didn't find it that hard to do. I was just disappointed that they weren't close enough for the 300mm to fill the frame, I'd have need at least a 500mm prime on my d90.

Day 250. Where's The Ball??

3896673943_439af1d5fe_o.jpg

A lazy day, work just sort of washes over me and before I know it, it's 5 o'clock.
I didn't receive my redundancy offer, I expected it, to be honest.

Anyway, was just playing with Sasha before dinner, camera always close, and the ball dropped into one of my wellies. Thought I'd try it again, to get a decent one and this is it.

DISCLAMER: NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN THE TAKING OF THIS PICTURE, I JUST NEED A NEW RIGHT WELLIE..
