Originally planned to take a shot of the sunset, but all this 70-200VR malarkey has drove me to the drink yet again. :nuts: So I spent ages mucking about with reversing the 50mm again on the extension tubes. I just noticed that the earlier cloud had dispersed quite a bit, so beer and d40 in hand, went and stood at the front door and took this. If only all 365 shots were as easy!!

Up early and away early, this not getting paid for travel time is really going to hurt the wallet, 5 hours for free today, and the same tomorrow.
Anyway, can't believe I haven't found this place before, there is a pier and easy access to the water for paddling...I think I've found the sweetish spot with the 17-55, seems to be around f/8 to about f/11. It's still sharp everywhere else but just gives me the best results around there.

It's hard to beat Ireland Lisa, the south is especially stunning, around Co.Cork and Limerick it's exceptional.

I know the shock it causes as my dad died 4 1/2 years ago very suddenly at the age of 52

So sorry to hear the bad news Jonny. My father died 5 years ago (it would have been his 70th birthday today too), and i miss him dearly.
I hope you do find the strength to carry on as it can give you something to focus on in testing times.

Day 198. RIP Stevie. 1958-2009.
I'm not normally one for making speeches or having any great insight into things. But, the last 9 hours of my life have changed that, for today at least. Stephen and my Mum had been seeing each other for about 5 years. They had been engaged for the last year and a half, if ever a couple was better suited it was Stevie and my Ma.
Stevie died last night at around 10 o'clock, of a massive heart attack that killed him instantly. My mother was by his side through it all, she works as a nurse and was frantically trying to administer CPR, but all hope had gone. I'm typing this through tears, even though Stevie wasn't my real dad, I still loved him. I loved how he made my mum happy. It's so sad to see my mum in such a mess, it's as if all hope for her has gone.
The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person
who is with us our entire life is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.
