Excellent Jason, this really appealsvery well though out,
at your pp skills![]()
I would love to be able to create images like this, it would look superb hung on the wall
![]()
Thanks for the kind comments Phil.
Wow Jason, that's a powerful image there, really rather poignant and a good reminder to us all.
Quite a lot of work gone into this one again, Loving the lens flare and teh numbers being blown away on the breeze..
As a really minor point, I'm not sure the minute hand over her eye works... do you still have the psd file with layers intact? If so, shouldn;t be too hard to rotate it back about 3 minutes. My biggest failing is I tend to flatten the image and delete the psd file when I think I'm happy with something.. once you've done that, a simple tweak becomes either impossible, or ridiculously complicated it's not worth doing.

Hi Graham. I agree about the hand over the eye...I still have all the layers so may have a play when time permits....Thanks for the indepth comments as always
Nicw take on the theme and great pp work
Thanks Colin
Good work Jason. Good base photos and super PP. I like th connection to the sea and sky. Nice bright images. Agree with Graham re the minute hand and whilst I really like the lens flare that small bright pentagon bottom right is a bit distracting from what is a lovely image
Thank Alan. I see what you mean about the botttom Pentagon and I agree it is distracting....If I rework this, I will certainly tone it down. Thanks for the comments
Hi Jason....I had a similar idea of the flying time in my mind but I hadn't the faintest idea how to create it. I really like the way you have added the photo to the clock....it gives it a much greater depth, I also like the use of the sky and the sea....they will still be here when we are all long gone!!
Well done on the excellent skill you have used to create this...a special one to keep too![]()
Fabulous take on the theme superb pp work excellent stuff.
Thanks Susie and Mandy for the comments. Much appreciated you gals taking the time to look
Another cracker. Well processed and had all the elements of a good photograph.
Cheers.
Excellent PP work and very poignant![]()
Really love this excellent processing, the hand over the eye has been mentioned otherwise job done![]()
HI Jason
another great image your pp work is superb
Thanks gents for the visit and comments..
Positive - I really like the lighting. although not fussed on the subject it fits the theme well
Time its a good idea well executed, but personally the thing overall for me is a bit too "rendered".
Thanks Chris...I do agree on the time image being a bit garish.....but hey ho.....sometimes bold can be beautiful
Hi Jason, another great image which shows off your pp skills! The only crit I can find (though others have mentioned it)is the hand over the eye!![]()
WOW!!! brilliant pp work, I would hang that on my wall any day![]()
Thanks Sarah and Judi for the kind words...appreciate them always
Hi JAson
now that is a seriously super piece of work , definitely one to be printed & framedAs for crit....to me the sky seems a little overcooked but thats a personal thing...& that's it ...otherwise super pp , a very emotional image for you ,well thought out & executed
I'm just starting to get to grips with PP & have no idea how you created the bits coming of the clock.....could you share how you created this please ? cheers
Hi Lynn.
I tried to create some variation amongst the pieces to keep it looking as natural
style 1) Clone a section of the clock and paste onto a new layer. Mask this cloned layer and paint away the excess to leave just the little flying bit in whaterver shape takes your fancy. Flatten the layer and duplicate it a few times varying the flying bit on each layer by using warp transform tool. Use the move tool to position the flying bit layers. Clone different parts of the clock and vary opacities to create extra variation. I did also paint in some shadows and highlights along the edges of some of the flying pieces to make them look more 3D if that possible?
Style 2) Paint black onto a new layer and repeat the 'shaping' method above to create solid black flying pieces. change opacity to tone these down. Again duplicate this layer mulitiple times transforming each to create slighting different versions of style 2
Style 3 ) Paint black on a new layer using chalk brush at differnt sizes. Vary opacity to suit
Style 4 ) Paint white on a new layer using chalk brush at different sizes. Vary opacity to suit
I think I had roughly 50 layers of flying bits....I am also new to PS so the above process if probably not the best of most efficient option ????
I used Eye Candy 7 plugin to create the flying bit reflections in the water
Hope this makes sense / is helpful
Hi Jason
LOVE that image, for the theme that is bang on
Not being cheeky, but I'd be interested to know how many of the elements you photographed, I'm presuming the Lovely family image and the Landscape ?? and of course how you created it![]()
Hi DK. Its not cheeky, its a valid question. The only element I've photographed is the picture of my Son and Great Gran on the clockface, all be it this was some time ago. The rest of the images (clock, seascape, clockwheels) are from free image stock libraries. Ideally I would photograph all elements if I had the time. Rightly or wrongly I am approaching this 52 challange as more of a Photoshop compositing challange. I am in the process of building up my own stock library but this will take time and is not that well suited to supplementing themed pieces that you might not choose to ordinarily create.
If you want to know how any specific elements were approached then let me know and I will try to elaborate as I have done for Lynn above.
Thanks for looking and thanks for the comments too
