Daily Jake's 365 Challenge

Day 48

48/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Saw this as we cycled past and thought the small river made a lovely lead in, lit up by winter sun through the gaps in the trees.
Just a drop and run tonight - knackered - will catch up on everyones threads tomorrow! :)

Like the car shot but absolutely love this one!

I like day 50 Jake, I like the ones that make me smile.
The light painting is a good attempt too.

Day 52

52/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

I was taking some photos for the work website today, so chose to use one as my photo of the day. I work for a surfacing contractor, and we are currently laying gold tarmac to the new car park in the middle of Newbury Racecourse. Normally I'm just in the office, so I like getting out with the boys on site. Was bloody freezing mind!

When you say getting out with the boys... youre taking photos and theyre grafting

I like to see this side of peoples 365 and it makes a really good shot too

Well technically that's true! I did push a barrow one time though ;)

It's good to see more into people's lives through their photos in my opinion :)

Thanks Ferj!

you pushed a barrow?..... wow!!! lol

nice shots and is good to see what others do etc.....:D

Cool, we used to go to Newberry for days out pre-kids nice place.

Cold? Try working outside all year round! Gold tarmac looks interesting though. Where do you get gold stones and gold tar to make it?;)

Gold tarmac?!?! Someone once told me the streets were paved with gold down south but I never believed them. Guess I was wrong all this time!

I know! That's as far as it goes. Not something I'd fancy as a day job!

I've never been to the races themselves, doesnt interest me overly.

Very cold! The wind was the problem! I prefer my nice warm office/car
It's called gold quartzite, but it's just gold coloured with a polymodified binder in it - in other words its got a really good lifespan. Costs around £350/tonne though!

Nice couple of shots Jake...hehehe love how you were concentrating on the 365 while others grafted....good lad

I can't be getting my hands dirty! This shot took some work though, I had to photoshop hard hats onto 2 of them

 I don't know about down south but they definitely are at Newbury Racecourse!

Another good one Jake.

Thanks Sarah!

Hi, Jake! :)

Day 47 is excellent and you didn't even moan about your tired old legs aching! :D

Day 48 is just great for a number of reasons, lovely composition, great reflections in the water, light just right... a really good shot.

Poor old Henry can't rely in you to give him lessons in accident prevention, can he? :D

Day 50 worked well, but I'm just not a car person so other than 'nice shot' I can't seem to drool over it! Well lit though and I like the red line! :) I also think the light and shadow on the ground works quite well!

Rocko is cute and today's is an interesting view into how you watch others work!:lol:

Hi Sam! :) Welcome back to my super fun filled thread :nuts:

Thanks for all your comments on my photos :)

When you push rock's heart he speaks too! :D

I'm very good at watching others work, I spent most of my day stood by the hopper of the machine trying to keep warm

Day 53

53/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

This little guy is called Logan. Logan thinks he is a bit of a cool dude, and there is nothing he likes more than cruising the block in his Beemer. Logan is good friends with Vanilla Ice, and they look similar too! He's always getting hassle from the pap, but he allowed me this exclusive shoot of him and his ride!

For those who don't know, this is Vanilla Ice - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_Ice

Logan needs a bigger car! :D Him getting into that's like watching Michael Jordan fold himself into a Smart car!:lol:

Nice story and I am impressed he allowed you access to photograph him! ;):D

Haha, that is one cool dude :)

He likes to think so!

He does doesn't he, he has a special shoe horn that we help him in with!

I was very surprised I was allowed to photograph, I must be going up in the world!

Day 54

54/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

I'm waiting for a nice clear night, and I'm really hoping I can grab a shot that wows! For now though it's just another inside shot, but I quite like this one! I kept the colours the similar in the pencils. This is also my second shot using the built in flash diffused with some white paper!

Both of your last two really work well - I like the just using 3 colours of pencil, might try that myself sometime

Yep liking the pencil shot, colours work well

I really like the pencils, Jake - great colours to use together, good focus and nice detail!

I have to say, that's a great portrait of Archie! Despite clearly having been through a lot of tough love in his life, he always seems to remain cheerful and content! Great pose and that BG colour does suit him! :)

He's not even a year old yet! Poppy sure does love him though! Of all the presents I've bought her, this £9 teddy from toys 'r' us is the most popular! :bang::lol:

Thanks Sam :)

Awww cute!..

Very cute

Very cuddly Jake !!

Thanks :)

Yea Jake, you need to get out more:D

I can never motivate myself to go out in the cold dreary greyness
