weekly It is what it is, Sirching for 52/2016 - 52 - Celebrate

Thanks all for the great comments, glad I didn't cock it up on this tablet on which I type like an old bloke with a tablet, otherwise I would give a fuller response :)
I don't suppose the queue of traffic we see is caused by "an old bloke with a tablet" who pulled up in the middle of the road to take a shot and to post pics

I know what it is, its the traffic light are stuck, it happens all the time up here and I've been the first one in the queue. Or its a one way street, or they let you in and then you can't get out. 3 possibilities, of all the smilies there is not one with a little man in a car. When you come to really look at these smilies the person who put them up has a real strange sense of humour, a jaffa cake or a poster that says I'm with stupid:wideyed:

Thanks molly
Nice one. Well spotted and nicely composed. The guy in the front car doesn't look to happy :)

Cheers.
Neither was I, thanks for commenting

Hi Chris ...I love your choice for static and it looks great with the traffic snaking around the bend.
Lots of traffic in Cornwall at the min ...not nice at all !
We have been that traffic in years gone by but not this year, gone to foreign parts for some sun, thanks for commenting

Brilliant photo for static, nothing to criticise

There's quite a lot wrong with this I guess but it is a candid pretty much sooc of the little darlings playing with a phone in a restaurant. Box ticked, :exit:

I don't know about that Chris, nothing much wrong with that one as far as I'm concerned - looks great to me. Good facial expressions captured.

It sort of works, nice shot of the kids, something that in the future will become more relevant if you know what I mean

I agree that works well, real good expressions and even a bit of separation with the DoF although a tad soft :)

Thanks guys, Alec usually hides whenever the camera comes out so it really was a sneaky shot with the camera just sitting on the table.

LOL kids eh?
Looks good to me Chris, and nicely on theme too.

... ain't nothing like a bit of candid. (y)

Works for me! Great expressions on their faces.

Ticks the box for me Chris, is it that Pokémon game ?

Hey Chris
Static is a really good shot. I'm drawn to the pickup(?) with the orange lighting bar on the roof.
Game - As others have said, you've captured expressions well.

I wouldn't be unhappy with that shot Chris. Great expressions on their faces and dof works well (y)

Thanks all, back in grey old blighty and reality is soaking in faster than the rain :(

A cracking water-scape, Chris, nicely serene and relaxing

Wow, great colours and love the smoothies off the water above the fall, mixed with motion blur on the lower level. (y) (y)
Thanks Chris

Ooo very nice Chris, very calming look to it, wonderful bright colours, and love the composition with the curving river and the bridge going over in the background, real nice reflection (y)
Thanks Dean

Have to say I am not keen on the over saturation, the scene does nothing for me either, sorry.

Fair enough, despite yesterday's weather forecast looking good the reality was that it was fairly dull so I did end up pushing it a bit further than I normally would to get something that wouldn't just bore the pants off you ;)

Very nice long exposure shot, and I don't mind the over saturation. Very serene indeed.

Tis a bit over saturated for me Chris, but I love the soft effect on the water and the location,a perfect choice for the theme.

Thanks for commenting, I guess it's a bit marmite

Love the composition and the way you have executed it with the water movement in the bottom part but the stillness and reflection on the top part of the river. Really like the reflection of the bridge as well. I agree that it is a tad oversaturated for my taste but as you say that is a personal thing.

Where was this taken? We were in yorkshire a couple of weeks back and it reminds me of some of the bridges/rivers in that area.

Just drop the saturation a bit for me and it will be fab (y)
thanks Jill

Thanks Steve, it's a bridge over the river Beela near Milnthorpe in south Cumbria. It it a limestone bridge in a limestone landscape so is probably similar to a lot in Yorkshire, particularly the Dales.

Looks like a very nice spot for taking pictures ... I'm wondering what we might get if the cameraman took a couple of paces to his right ... more bridge, no doubt . o_O

Anyway this is a nice compo, nice creamy water but, as stated, a bit over saturated.
