Thanks Chris, that's what I was going forLike this Chris, to me it's the struggle for life, nice colours against the rocky background. Nicely stacked !

Thanks Carl, doing it the way I did it was fairly straight forward and is certainly another tool in the box for when there is OOF foreground stuff that is distracting from the subject. I liked the idea that life just springs up anywhere and everywhereHmmm! Just read your reply to Emma - very interesting Chris. I haven't tried stacking either so may give it a shot sometime. Like the composition with those colours coming through and I like the narrative showing nature sustaining life in a harsh environment.![]()
Bit of a catch up on comments
sign - plenty of signs there but no real focal point
stone re-shoot - lovely amonite well taken
flora - I like soft tones and the raindrops on it lovely simple looking shot
Life - certainly shows the adverse conditions some plants survive in well captured

Thanks TimHey Chris,
Well done getting something for life without the huge shoe horn I'm about to use![]()
Yes I think it probably needs something to give it a bit of scale, the seedling is tiny and it was a macro job.Nice one Chris, theme-wise, not too dissimilar to mine.
I wouldn't have guessed it was a stack job, because it's not the type of image that I associate with stacking. But now you mention it, I can see the unfocussed areas at the sides.
Clinging to life - interesting take on the theme Chris. Never tried focus stacking but I have been known to hang around the park with my camera looking for a tree to hang my knickers on![]()

Oh Wow! What a great find Chris. #2 for me I think for the eye contact and composition. Beautiful.![]()
Oh how beautiful and perfect for the theme! Number two is wonderful - great eye contact - but I do like the environment in the first.
A nice set there Chris, the first one for me, I like the doe small in the frame and with the branches adding to the hidden feeling![]()
A very nice set of image there Chris I agree with Dean No 1 fits the hidden theme best.
The theme is hidden not serendipitous![]()
Thanks ChrisNice find Chris and I'll let you off in the "cute stakes"![]()
Excellent, thats other shoe horner into the flockTBH you were probably getting this photo whatever the theme, I've learned from the best![]()
Thanks Susie, I was happy when I managed the first but it was a real bonus that it headed out into a clearingWow Chris lucky you ...well spotted, I'm with the others #1 for the theme, #2 for the expression, and #3 for capturing a real sense of vulnerability.
Thanks AllanFirst one for me can't add anything to what's already been said nicely spotted and good reactions to catch of before it bolted
Thanks Bernd, it's probably noise/noise reduction making the first look a bit soft, it was dark under those trees.#2 for the pose and sharpness, #1 for hitting the brief although it looks slightly soft on my screen.
#1 here. I was going to say something about the softness adding to the feel of the shot but that's an onteresting way to get the effect using the NR.
Yes subject's a bit soft in #1 but still a great image, great surround.![]()
Thanks Chris, they usually hear me and leg it long before I can get a clear shot, this one was cautious but not too botheredChris, I am surprised they hung around. We stumbled across a large deer earlier in the year scared the crap out of me, I don't know who was more frightened ! Prefer the first photo
52-2016-Lone-Tree by TheWub, on FlickrThanks ChrisNot a long wrong with that at all Chris, especially the sky![]()
Thanks Carl, glad you liked it, I guess it's hard to be objective sometimes. That is a brilliant shot Chris - love the colours and that sky .. beautiful.
Thanks MarkBrilliant image Chris that sky is fantastic
Thanks Allan, I'm not one for vignettes and I have not added one to this image but the sun was shining on the middle of the foreground limestone and tree so I pulled the exposure down a bit on the foreground which seems to have given the vignette effectThat works for me I'd lose the vignette though doesn't do it any favours
Thanks David, it was pretty windy too, it took a few attempts to get the tripod stable enough for a reasonable shot. The 40 second version didn't work at allVery nice ... stole peep at the exif ... f/18 for 20 secs.![]()
