But, let's base it on recent form as well, the two friendlies didn't exactly cover England in glory either. Aye, they won them, but look especially at the Japan game where they needed two own goals to win it.
The fact is the English team isn't as good as you've been led to believe it is. You've got two (Gerrard/Rooney) genuine world class players and another two or three (J Cole/Lampard/Crouch maybe, he scores regularly for England??) you could probably include on a good day. The rest of them aren't really that special
in the company they're with at the moment.
