Yes
Considering all the varieties of pork based products I reckon it's got to be the best meat.

Sausage, bacon, roast pork etc etc

Yum!

I love sausage, bacon and gammon but roast pork, pork casserole etc. does absolutely nothing for me. Chicken is the king of meats for me.

beef for me.

Steak, and also Roast Beef. Oh and home made beef burgers. And Chilli con Carne. And Beef in Black Bean sauce. And lasagne with beef mince.

+1

Nothing beats a top quality steak.

Venison followed by ostrich ... luverly :)

Definitely not. The smell of pork cooking often turns my stomach. Roast pork is horrible. Ditto pork chops. I like bacon and ham but not the whiter meats. Sausages seem to be ok too.

Beef, lamb or chicken are far nicer.

Let's clarify though.

Which is the best meat in terms of the different meat products that can be derived from it:

Beef -

Mince
Roast
Steaks - all the different cuts

Pork-

Mince
Ham
Gammon
Bacon
Roast
Pork chops - and different cuts or various steak like products

Surely on that merit it's the best in terms of the number of neat based products?

You won't be getting the Muslim or the Jewish vote! :p

FWIW, I always think lamb is terribly underrated and I possibly even prefer it to beef

yep a nice rack of roast lamb
or a stew made with cheaper cuts

pork pies are a mince product (ditto sausages)

you could just as eaily claim burgers for the beef side of the line

*hides bacon sandwich* :$ :D

Agree, lamb is defnitely best for me

5 hour roasted leg of lamb
Mince, which can be used for anything that minced pork or beef can be.
Chops
cutlets
Shanks
Steaks
Rumps
Rack of Lamb

Oh, I do apologise *wipes drool from chin*

lambs still the best tasting though

depending on season, lamb or beef....

tonight have a huge piece of lamb to BBQ and the rosemary that is going inside it is still growing in the garden.

pork pies are a mince product (ditto sausages)

Not where I get mine from, the pork is chopped by hand, not minced, pastry hand raised.
No cereal either, just pork plus whatever he adds that day, apple, blackcurrant, herbs etc. Quite expensive though!

yeah i'm partial to the occasional roo burger - but its difficult to get over here as too many people can't get on with the idea of eating skippy so tescos have stopped importing it

cant beat a nice piece of belly pork cooked with onions and mushroooms but i think lamb is the ultimate meat but expensive so id rather have belly pork :) and keep the lamb as a nice treat with some mint sauce

There, fixed it.

We used to make our own sausages, pate, and bacon - brilliant!

one day I'm going to stuff a partridge into a chicken, then stuff that into a lamb, then stuff the lamb into a pig, stuff the pig into a cow and roast the whole lot. Take the skin off the pig first and wrap it around the cow for the best crakling

That would be an ultimate roast

by the way, someone above mentioned beef bacon.

Thats the devils incarnation and is only slightly worse than chicken sausages! I tried some in jordan. GRIM!!

I didn't say it was nice.........just that it exisits

No love for duck? My Chinese mother in-law cooks one mean duck :) nom

Beef is up there with it though.

you guys have all got the wrong end of the stick though. You can't help thinking of purely the roast meat.

How many people here wouldn't put bacon and ham as two of the best sandwich fillings you can get. Lamb or beef don't make great sandwiches for example.

which of these animals produce meat that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Pork is the superior meat overal whilst I would agree it doesn't make the best roast dinner - beef or lamb for me there

Gonna severely disagree there Joe,
You can't beat a cold lamb and branston pickle sandwich,
or a cold roast beef with a smearing of Coleman's English mustard
(with or without a fresh sliced tomato)

I love turkey bacon. Not quite as good as the regular stuff but it's a lot healthier. I now only eat turkey bacon and would struggle to reliably tell the difference in a blind taste test when it was in a sandwich with brown sauce or a BLT etc.

I guess it depends on the circumstances
(and probably more likely, what time of day "breakfast" actually is.)
Now, Brunch, is a different matter all together
