erm, they are only one of the biggest Internet companies around

yup
I've used them a couple of times
not only safe but quick and cheap

hmm quick, safe and cheap - reminds me of my first....
oops wrong forum :nono:

Yes Play is reliable.
I have purchased both my Sandisk Extreme SD cards from them and they are 100% genuine.
I get all my dvds, books, music from them too.

Only thing that has bugged me with them recently. They will not replace anything if it goes faulty after 28 days, you have to deal with the manufacturer.

I alwasy buy all my chrimbo pressies from them and all my cards for camera are from them, 100% reliable :)

My sister buys stuff from Play.com quite a bit, it's always been quick and reliable.

Yeap, all stuff is the genuine article, bought 2 extreme III Sandisks from them recently for £14.99 each :D

yep ive been buying off them for about 7 years

buy from play all the time, never once had a problem with them.

try playusa.com if you have a multiregion dvd player too :)

been buying off play for about 6/7 years back when they were play247.com. never had a problem and always prompt delivery.

ditto

I think because they are channel islands based rather than mainland they can use a tax loophole to avoid vat or something

Don't buy off them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They sent me an email on Thursday telling me that they'd posted my Bourne trilogy.......it's not got here yet so i'll be stuck with no film tonight :annoyed:

Maybe it has turned up and your missus has hidden it because she wants to watch X-factor or celebrity dancing instead :D

bought loads off them, never had a problem.

And another vote, quick and reliable

The Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 require the retailer to repair or replace faulty goods within 6 months of purchase. The same law also dropped the need for the consumer to prove the goods were faulty and now requires the retailer to prove the goods are not faulty.

hi guys thanks for all the views i am guesing they are reliable.

anyway i think i may get extreme 2gb disk

thanks

Mark

Play.com are based in Jersey, when you get that email stating the item has been posted, it will be delivered between 3 and 5 working days.

I use them all the time and cant fault em. They are very competative with prices too.

Bourne ultimatum is not due for release until 10th Dec. So unlikely you will receive before then.

I know they said release on the tenth, the email said it's been posted though and the money has gone off my CC, something play don't usually do until they ship.
I've had discs delivered by them the day before the release a few times, so their mail wasn't a surprise really.

Surely thats royal mails fault :p

No.....it's play.......they should go bust !!!

Maybe it has turned up and your missus has hidden it because she wants to watch X-factor or celebrity dancing instead :D

The X factor doesn't get on my TV :gag:
She's not had it......in fact I might even send her out into the cold and rain to tesco to get a copy of Transformers

play.com is great i use it all the time aswell as amazon

No.30 of their TOC.
"All electrical products are covered by a twelve month manufacturer's warranty. If your product develops a fault while under warranty, please contact Play.com and we will advise you where to send it for repair. It is a "return to base" warranty therefore there will be a delivery charge to return the product back to the relevant UK service centre."

They advised me on 3 occasions that i had to send the faulty memory directly to Kingston. They wouldn't deal with it after 28 days of purchase.
It's sorted now anyway, Kingston was very good.

If you are happy to send back to the manufacturer I don't see a problem IF the fault is clear cut.

A possible problem arises if the fault is a matter of judgement and the manufacturers don't agree that there is a problem. They are under no obligation to prove that, the seller is. If the maker states that it is OK and you then send to the seller, the seller will say that the maker says its OK and you are stuck.

If a product is returned to the seller the are obliged to PROVE that it is not faulty.

They can't put a condition in their TOC which restricts rights you have by statute. That would be an unfair contract term and there is a specific law prohibiting that.

Bugga, wish i had known that before. Next time ;)

I've used them on many occasions and they've been spot on every time. You're perfectly safe.

I hear a lot of people get UK XBox 360 games from PlayAsia for around £20! Not tried it myself though.
