Anyone know if they were returned in time for Sunday and/or today?
I can't fathom it, I really can't. It disgusts me that very few of my generation wear a poppy or even observe the 2 minute silence, but how could anyone do that? Do people not understand what they're all about? It's more than a plaque with names on it. It's about remembering and thanking the poeple who laid down their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom we do. If it wasn't for the names on those plaques the little scrotes who robbed them may never have been born. It sickens me my stomach.
Remember the words 'When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today' ? It really is that simple.
I hope they find the little b*stards and sign them up for 4 years service, taking in all the sights and sounds of the Helmand province and downtown Basra. Tech them what it means to have your name on thse plaques.
Rant over. I'm sorry, but I'm a serving member of HM Forces and that sort of thing is an insult to all sailors, soldiers and airmen, past, present and future. I hate people spitting, but if I ever get the chance I'd spit in the thieves faces.
