Why oh why would you do that?!?!?!?!

Stupid ruddy d**k heads. :bang:

I hope the little *******s who stole it get all they deserve.:bat:

It is just awful :bang:

:eek:Sadly the world has it's idiots
Beyond belief really, sadly these kids probably have no idea of the significance of these.

Once caught they really need to be publicly humiliated, bring back the stocks

Cant say anything suprises me these days,

This type of thing outrages me like you wouldn't believe particularly having a dad who fought in WW2, i truly believe the sort of b******s who do this thing should be locked up for a very long time or better still horse whipped on a regular basis, but as we all know if and when they get caught it will just be a few hours community service, there are no words to describe these morons.

with any luck the plaques fall off a shelf they are on and crush the theives

agreed probably scrap meta ltheives but from programmes i have watched they are generally kids themselves!

Totaly bang out of order it is getting really stupid in this country

Bearing in mind that rememberance day is coming up, could be some anti-defence group of hippies...

Still a discrace, whoever it was.

That is Sick, can't they find anything better to do?

Tony

Anyone know if they were returned in time for Sunday and/or today?

I can't fathom it, I really can't. It disgusts me that very few of my generation wear a poppy or even observe the 2 minute silence, but how could anyone do that? Do people not understand what they're all about? It's more than a plaque with names on it. It's about remembering and thanking the poeple who laid down their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom we do. If it wasn't for the names on those plaques the little scrotes who robbed them may never have been born. It sickens me my stomach.

Remember the words 'When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today' ? It really is that simple.

I hope they find the little b*stards and sign them up for 4 years service, taking in all the sights and sounds of the Helmand province and downtown Basra. Tech them what it means to have your name on thse plaques.

Rant over. I'm sorry, but I'm a serving member of HM Forces and that sort of thing is an insult to all sailors, soldiers and airmen, past, present and future. I hate people spitting, but if I ever get the chance I'd spit in the thieves faces.

:agree: I really do hope they were returned before today. As has been said though, the sort of scrotes who would nick this sort of thing probably aren't aware of the sacrifices those men and women made so they could be free to act like complete tits in 2008. I'm 24, I buy a poppy every year, and was at my local war memorial at 11 o'clock today for the 2 minutes silence. Every schoolchild in the country should be made to go out into their local town to observe the ceremony, and not just have an assembly in the school hall. Maybe coming face to face with some of the people who have fought for them might get them thinking a bit.

I'm 23 Richard and am a prud member of the forces, not for the uniform, and not for the discipline, but for the traditions that go with the job, and for the men who have gone before me. I really would like the string the little sh*ts up for swiping the plaques. But of course even if the fuzz do mange to stop scarfing donuts long enough to find the culprits, it's doubtful they'll get any more thn a slap on the wrist.

I work for the police in a civilian role, and believe me, most bobbies would want to string the little s**ts up up as well, but that option is sadly not available to them, since it would go down as minor theft or even criminal damage if the plaques were returned.

It should go down as treason. And no offence meant to your colleagues, but certainly around here unless you're a farmer complaining about someone taking a shortcut through your field the police down't seem to care.

Happened up here in Wallsend on Tyne recently and it took a lot of searching through the archives to find the names so they could be replaced, this time with a material of lesser value, Welsh slate.

So Welsh anything really then? :D

In all seriousness, it's sad that cost has to be a thought for that reason though really isn't it?

Hopefully, when the thieves try to sell the plaques to a scrap dealer, he/she will report them to the police.

Anthony.

And then, shortly afterwards accidentally drop the heavy items onto their legs, so they can't run away from Big Bill in cell 35 who has taken a liking to them.

unless they melt it down first?

They must be pro's in that case, not just petty thieves, bronze melts at 950 degrees celcius, not a temperature I'd want to be messing around with, and probably a temperature most crims aren't capable of producing!
