Is it the 12 inches in front of, or behind the camera - challenge idea

Ah go on then.

Now to balance the cost of a B+W disposable vs going cheap and colour then paying Asda to dev it.

If you can develop BW yourself Steven, then there's no reason not to dev the colour film in a disposable as BW - I've had good results doing that before. As an example:
Kodak Gold in 1+50 Rodinal

Great idea :D.

What was that about making things even harder for ones self.

Anyone know of a disposable camera with an electronic shutter release?

I know there's no modded category in this comp.. but I might as well run with the thoughts whilst I have them.. ..

I wouldn't mind a bash at this while I am in Scotland.... Although don't expect miracles.....

Cheers,

Ste

yv..i'd love to show an interest...but disposables don't have timers... how do i do self portraits ????

Mirrors? You could break that bad habit and not be in a picture
Sorry Kev, I know, how could I do this to you.... :sulk:

NOT in the picture.>????? how would that look..??? ... BUT ..it might just work...

cunning plan Yv... i'll go out tomorrow and purchase said disposable camera and throw it immediately in the bin ..right..??

I will hopefully give this a go.

What you need is A FRIEND! With a finger! :D

... which is why I'm not entering officially - yet! I might very well submit a shot or two but it's also possible that I'll be holding reflectors and light stands ... and trying to explain to passers by that it isn't performance art and we really are using £3,000 worth of lighting gear with £3 worth of disposable camera! :cuckoo:

Count me in! Just posted on F&C, I've sourced buy 1 get 2 free for £3.99 from Superdrug.
Their own branded cameras. 27exp, flash, 400ISO.
I'm off that week so no excuses.

Put me down for this, could be a laugh!

Question -
back in the days when I used to put 35mm's in for developing, under exposed shots would come back with a sticky label effectively saying your crap!
Does that still happen and if I get one does it have to form part of the scan

81 exposures! You planning on a few mistakes :naughty:

Any one know if these contraptions count up to 27 or down from 27? Seen a couple in a charity shop for a pound but they were around 25 on the counter. Does that mean I've got another 24 shots or just 2?

Just be careful what's on them if they have two shots left..... ??? ;)

No they balance the exposure, WB etc when the negs are scanned and then printed (it is possible to do that with the traditional optical method but the time took too long for most 'consumer' labs to bother!) as you can get an 'acceptable' print from a good +3 to - 2 stops of exposure with neg film.

Count me in, reminds me of school trips to PGL etc about 10 years ago where we were told we could only bring disposable cameras so that way we couldn't lose anything valuable!

Thats what worries me, wouldn't like to send that out to developed and be returned by the police...

Unless you knew someone who could process it?? Then that would be fun....... ?

So what have you been leaving in charity shops?

Ordered mine from Amazon last night, not 1/2 hour later wife walks in and says, you know that thing you where going on about on TP, well I have bought you 2 cameras for it :bang::bang::bang:

So thats three cameras I have, will only use one though as stated earlier lol.

Hey I think I'd like to have a go at this! Years ago we did buy a disposable at the airport when we realised we'd forgotten the camera, and I don't remember the pictures being (much) worse! Could be fun. Reminder helpful...

Everyone that has expressed an interest now added. PLease do check the first post and if I have missed anyone, just shout. I will use that list for sending out PM reminders the week before, so make sure you are on there if you want a nudge. ;)

I was going to drop you a pm if you hadn't appeared in the next few days, given this came from an idea initially suggested by you anyway - you are most defintely welcome! :D

NO!! I have polaroids and film too, but disposables only :p

I think Silverprint have some Rollei branded ones. I will probably take a trip over and get one if they do.

Oh crikey! Go on then I will give this a go! Think I have a disposable at home somewhere that my Dad insisted I had in the car 'just in case'... I decided it would be asking for trouble so took it out then didn't have it when some uninsured ******* smashed in to me!!

As the few places that still do B&W developing usually charge quite a lot and take a while, I'm quite happy to develop the film and scan the negatives for anyone who gets a B&W disposable camera. I'm based in Nottingham so if anyone nearby wants to drop one off with me for that then PM me.

Sam

can you get a disposable camera that shoots XP2 ? - that way you could get B&W done at any colour processing place
