Give me clash of the titans any day.
While I don't really expect chronological accuracy WRT legends, I do object a little to placing Pythagoras alongside the Minotaur when Knossos was abandoned a few hundred years before Pythagoras existed.
The BBC seems to be clutching at straws with a lot of its drama I managed to last to the end of the first episode of By Any Means but deleted it from the season planner, I couldn't stand another one It felt like I was watching the hustle which was equally as bad

It was the same guy that did hustle, tony Jordan I think. Which is why I like it![]()
It is frustrating in that regard.
I think it's in a bad timeslot for what it is - you kind of expect something better at that time of evening, whereas earlier on you can accept it for the 'family entertainment' dross that it is
I think it will be getting earlier as the number of contestants in Strictly reduces, so they've pitched it for the earliest slot it will appear in.
I haven't watched the second yet, but the first was not a promising start.

It's formula crap tacked on to classic tales, cheap to make (in an old Welsh factory) the only expense is the crews' jollies to Morroco while they run around on some sand.
Jason the 'Hero' - young, good looking, mysterious past used to explain away how he can do stuff he shouldn't be able to when he gets into trouble.
Pythagoras?? the bright sidekick, there to provide answers and tell him where to go to get into trouble.
Hercules the dumb sidekick, there to provide comedy and get him into trouble.
Ariadne - the unattainable totty over whom he's bound to get into trouble.
The King - as two dimensional a character as you can get who's only role is to look and sound menacing while sending our hero off to get into trouble.
Queen - manipulating/evil/scheming yada yada get him into trouble.
The Oracle whose job is to keep the mystery bubbling while telling him just enought to send him off into trou...well you get the idea by now.
