Is it just me or is Atlantis awful?

No, it's just you that is awful

Actually, I came to the same conclusion regards Atlantis, but didn't expect much from a BBC drama/comedy(?) at that time of day.

I thought it would actually be about Atlantis but it's just a hodge podge of ancient greek tales/characters butchered for the new dumbed down BBC :(

Much the same as the thing it seems to be cloned from - Merlin.

Have the BBC remade the awful Sinbad that Sky did a few years ago?

While I don't really expect chronological accuracy WRT legends, I do object a little to placing Pythagoras alongside the Minotaur when Knossos was abandoned a few hundred years before Pythagoras existed.

It is frustrating in that regard.
I think it's in a bad timeslot for what it is - you kind of expect something better at that time of evening, whereas earlier on you can accept it for the 'family entertainment' dross that it is

The BBC seems to be clutching at straws with a lot of its drama

I managed to last to the end of the first episode of By Any Means but deleted it from the season planner, I couldn't stand another one

It felt like I was watching the hustle which was equally as bad

It was the same guy that did hustle, tony Jordan I think. Which is why I like it ;)

I was thinking Hustle too but didn't know there was a connection. I got through the first BAM, but the opening scene to episode 2 was like watching a WKD advert so off it went.

I think it will be getting earlier as the number of contestants in Strictly reduces, so they've pitched it for the earliest slot it will appear in.

I haven't watched the second yet, but the first was not a promising start.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who was sat watching the screen with disbelief.

I thought it was utter tripe!

I also watched that By Any Means too, another stinking pile of dung !

should be on pre-Strictly. And then Strictly shouldn't be on

As for The Wrong Mans... Utter tripe - from the lower intestines, pre voiding.

It's awful and my missus likes it which means that I have to sit through it
Next time it's on think I'll go and edit some pictures:D
It's frustrating though because the BBC is capable of so much better:bang:

It's formula crap tacked on to classic tales, cheap to make (in an old Welsh factory) the only expense is the crews' jollies to Morroco while they run around on some sand.

Jason the 'Hero' - young, good looking, mysterious past used to explain away how he can do stuff he shouldn't be able to when he gets into trouble.
Pythagoras?? the bright sidekick, there to provide answers and tell him where to go to get into trouble.
Hercules the dumb sidekick, there to provide comedy and get him into trouble.
Ariadne - the unattainable totty over whom he's bound to get into trouble.
The King - as two dimensional a character as you can get who's only role is to look and sound menacing while sending our hero off to get into trouble.
Queen - manipulating/evil/scheming yada yada get him into trouble.
The Oracle whose job is to keep the mystery bubbling while telling him just enought to send him off into trou...well you get the idea by now.

I am sure there is an almost indiscernible pattern, lurking in there...:lol:

I haven't actually watched any of it - but I suspect that tells me all I need to know without having to sit through an episode :)

Didn't realise this was on, tried it on catchup and think will leave it at the first episode.

Its no Spartacus :)

No, I AM Spartacus!

Actually thought the first episode was OK but that's it, there's nowhere to go now and the second was formulaic and can't see it improving.
How much has the Beeb spent on this? Give me more Peaky Blinders please Auntie!
