The fact is if you are cooking your steak well done, then it matters less what quality the steak is. That's not really anything we don't already know!
This is like one of those threads that compares an f/4 lens with a fast prime but then shoots at f/8 in perfect light.
I.e. pointless
Try shooting the iPhone at 1.4 with manual focus at 24 frames a second. Oh that's right it can't be done.

This is an interesting video comparing the video shot by the new iphone with that shot by the Canon 5DMK II. I'd say the iphone is pretty good.

Exactly, its a pointless comparison!
Point missed.
It's showing what a little pocket HD camera can do compared against what is (probably) the industry standard HD-recording DSLR. The 5D can do a lot more, but for some general shooting it's amazing what a phone can achieve. Those who don't see that need to open their eyes a little wider....
No, quite right, but it does get a bit boring as if you believed everything that was shared about their products, Apple would be sitting on the worlds largest reserve of pixie dust...Some people just like to share stuff for the sake of sharing; not everything in this world has a sinister or ulterior motive....
The fact it just happens to be the newest big-brand phone on the market kind of hints that it will get a lot of coverage. When HTC/Samsung (et al) bring the next one out tomorrow or the day after, the same coverage will apply. This isn't strictly an apple fanboy thing (although the guy probably likes his 4s a lot), it's a simple video to show what technology can do.
So you shoot with the right tool for the job - no one asked you to do any different - stop being so bloody smart-arse about it. Or are you one of those who denies that such technology as phones and tablets won't be in a position soon to multi-task? I see you own a DSLR that does video - why not chop it in and get a D60, which'll just shoot stills?.....

.....like a Saxo owner who tries to make his car as fast as a Ferrari.

Joe. I'm in shock!!!!! We agree! The comparison is pointless.
I agree, its pointless. I have spent the last hour trying to ring my mum using my 5D2 and I can't even get a dialing tone
