Interested in a portrait/natural light workshop?

Hi CJ,

Just to clarify.... I my wife and I register now, when would you require payment by?

I have just filled in my registration - let me know when to pay, and if it helps you, how to pay other than paypal (to avoid fees..)
Can't wait CJ, just hope my brain can take it all in !
Steve

That's me registered and paid, can't wait!

I'll get on to sorting out my transport and accommodation now. Think I'll just stay in as cheap a b&b as I can find. Be interested to here where others are staying once you have it sorted.

Cheryl - could you let us know the address of the venue so that I can find something close by?

I've just registered too  Really looking forward to this :D

Great Idea this. I do like new ideas. Please keep me posted when details are concluded. I'm a bit of a seasoned pro who possibly relies too much on instinct and even I could benefit from this, as long in the tooth for learning, or re-learning, as I am.

all registered
not excited
at all
a lot :naughty:

Hi, all!

Sorry to be a bit quiet the last few days. My schedule turned a little brutal on me. And to top it off, the company I'm working with on my book project has had a shift in management, and wanted me to revamp the entire project in three days to suit the new editor's whims. :suspect:

I've just finished sending registration confirmations to all those who registered online. I have not yet sent payment confirmations, but will be doing that shortly. As mentioned in the e-mail, I'll be sending out the venue address with the other details ASAP -- just trying to confirm the last few details with the venue first, which should happen tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience! We're going to have a great time. J Gordon, you are absolutely right -- the workshop will be beneficial both for the very new beginners, and for those who are a bit more seasoned. I want to encourage anyone who is hesitating because they are very new to photography to jump in with both feet. I promise you'll go home with a head stuffed full of information.

got somewhere to rest weary head after skool now as well

cripes do we get homework? :help:

I've only just seen this, (been v busy past month) I would have loved to have done this and would have paid more too, £300 is a steal, but I'm on my jollies until 20th of October, is this weekend date set in stone yet???:'(

This sounds totally amazing and like an excellent opportunity to learn a lot.

I am so green with envy for all of those of you going. I'd love to go (as portrature is wherre my heart lies) but unfortunalty I just cant afford it at the mo (unemployed :( ) and I doubt that will change in time to save up £300 + travel/bed expensise.

I hope if it goes well you will do another one when I'm in a more lucrative place!

Have fun!

I emailed you asking for bank details
no reply as yet

Haven't given this any thought yet tbh. I have considered just driving it day as I only live an hour and a half from Brighton

I am likely going to be arriving early on Saturday and leaving late on Sunday and will be staying somewhere a) local and, b) chirpy, chirpy cheap cheap.

Still waiting to hear final, final confirmation from CJ before booking transport and accommodation. Also need to know the address of the venue.

Ok, so spill the beans....where you staying? Might be fun if we could all be together??????

I followed a link earlier in the thread
booked into Brighton House Hotel

senior management will be there too
making sure my credit card isn't too heavy to carry back home - allegedly

would be nice to meet up
especially if we have homework to do :'(

Sorry to be slightly absent, all -- just did my third show of the weekend, and I am ready to pass out. It's 2:05 AM and I'm just now eating dinner.....

Will be back with you all tomorrow, promise.

Hi All,

Cheryl is having some internet access problems at the moment but managed to get a reply to a PM to me. She asked if I could post the following......

Hi, Paul,

I'm having some internet issues (it's crashing about every five minutes on me) but I'm trying to sneak in and get everyone their receipts and the workshop info out. If I can't stay on long enough to reply to the workshop thread, can you let everyone know for me?

I'm changing out my wireless nnetwork today, so hopefully I'll have it fixed by tonight.

Talk soon!

- CJ

Back online, with a migraine and a request from Linksys to never call them again. ;)

Quick dinner (at a sane hour this time) and I'll be back with you all.

- CJ

Sounds like you're having a hell of a time of it at the moment Cheryl :( Hope that migraine goes away

OK, all, I'm back up and running! Been on for ten whole minutes without my connection crashing. I'm like a proud parent.

I've just sent all the pertinent details to all who have registered. It's going to be a good time!

- CJ

glad to see you back in the land of the (alleged) living!
I still don't have payment info - which makes paying that bit harder.......

Mike, I haven't forgotten, promise! You're next on my list of catch-up e-mails. The list is looooooooooong.

does anyone have any ideas about places to stay, somewhere cheap and cheerful would be ideal, i've looked online but everywhere seems quite expensive, and the ones that are reasonable all seem full for that weekend

I need to find somewhere el cheapo too, if not I've heard the local somerfield leave some nice thick cardboard boxes out the back every night.

in the same boat as you:nono:..decided to drive to and from Brighton each day..luckily im only about 90 mins away..any body wanna lift with me..if i can help, you are welcome..im coming from Lakeside..Grays..Essex area:thumbs:
Dave

Yeah I'm still toying with the idea of driving in each day. I'm in Reading, Berks which is also about 90 mins away. Still might try and book in somewhere in Brighton though, it'd be good to maybe all go out for a meal together on Saturday night

I now have my travel and accommodation sorted. I will be staying at the Cross Street Guest House on Friday and Saturday nights for the princely sum of £30 a night b&b. It is less than a mile from the workshop venue too.

I was just going to stay for just the Saturday night at first but it seems that no guesthouses will accept bookings for just one night at a weekend. In the end I decided I would probably get more out the workshop anyway if I wasn't getting up ridiculously early on the Saturday to travel all the way down to Brighton from Edinburgh.

Definitely up for some food with you all on the Saturday night, that would be fun.

Really looking forward to it now!

For others still looking for accommodation I found that google maps was the best place to search for somewhere cheap, there's a few you could try here. They are the closest ones to the workshop venue.
