Interested in a portrait/natural light workshop?

is anyone going down on Friday?
might be nice to "break the ice" before skool starts?
 
Can't wait to attend the course on saturday :) Is there much point lugging my laptop aswell?
 
I'm taking mine
mainly cos I can see the results more easily!

I'm leaving today at around 12 lunchtime.
Need to get the train at 2pm, so I'll be arriving at 6:30ish.

I think I'm more scared about catching the wrong train.

Yes, I'm taking my laptop too. Even though the battery lasts about 3 seconds.

I'll be taking my Epson P4000 photo viewer but not a laptop........mainly because I haven't got one lol
 
This will sound stupid but do you need to pay to park the car as brighton to me means london and normally London commands you to pay to park :(

Camera, lens, laptop ... at this rate i might aswell bring my studio lights which i've brought so i can be shown how to use them :)

Must remember to bring a 4-way gang so we can share the plug point ;)
 
From what Ive seen you do need to pay to park and a lot of hotels dont have their own car park.
All it says on our hotel website is ...
'Parking is available underneath Regency Square, and on the seafront.'

Also read this on another hotel site that I'd considered ...
'The Belgrave Hotel offers a discounted rate of £8 for 24 hours at the NCP on Russel Road. ( Normally £15 )'

As a local I can report the weather is perfectly spot on, blue skies and sunshine, but cooling down, particularly at night. Not around saturday sadly or i'd have come and met you all for a:beer: or two.
For those staying on in Brighton I am running a landscape course on Tuesday and have two, possibly 3 places available. See details in the For Sale section and call to book.

Are we all just going to meet at the lobby of the hotel with our userids as name badges so we can recognise eatch other?

If anyone finds cheap car parking please let me know.

Outside of London, Brighton is the most expensive place in the country to park, try and avoid parking near the shopping areas if you can, it'll be gridlock on a Saturday.
 
i looked on NCP site..there is an underground car park right almost next door to the hotel..pay with credit card on exit,think it gonna be about £12 per day..:'(..never mind..gotta be done..:shrug:
 
Use the London Road NCP at £.70 per hour and enjoy a walk through the North Laine to the venue. Don't try and park illegally, it could cost you hundreds.
 
Well, I made it to england, but wasn't sure if I would - we had so much rain last night that our road was washed away, and it wasn't easy to get to the tarmac, and I drove towards the airport with the dawn behind me, and the blackest clouds infront of me, and so much lightning that it was showing me where the road was - 25 kilometers per hour was enough. Got to the airport to find no flights in or out, and when mine did arrive, they wouldn't refuel it as there was too much lightning.....
Still, back now, not really ready, but will be there - I'll be the tired looking old bloke with a little red backpack, black jeans, a blue denim jacket and tired eyes..
 
I'd definitely be up for something like that. Any excuse I could get to come back to England would be fantastic!
