But perhaps alienating the inmates so much that they don't feel part of society doesn't help much when they eventually get out.
Oh dear. What a shame. Never mind.

I believe thats swansea prison. Havent been to the restaurant myself, not sure i'd trust them not to add "special" ingredients of their own.
Many homeless people have in the past committed a minor crime so that they get a warm place to sleep and 3 meals a day.
When you have access to as much as prisoners do these days its a holiday camp not a punishment. They should have a room with a bed and a bog, thats it IMHO.

Maybe that's part of the problem, and I'd probably be the same. But perhaps alienating the inmates so much that they don't feel part of society doesn't help much when they eventually get out.
Why should a released con receive more opportunities than joe public does?
As a person who has worked hard all his life I don't feel part of society anymore for lots of reasons so why should they demand it?
Someone mentioned mental health.
the only place to get treated these days for mental health is in prison!
its just too much dammed trouble to treat genuine needy people.

I don't think anyone has actually suggested that a released con should receive more opportunities, I certainly didn't.
I guess you missed the irony.
Are you going soft on them, then
What's with the bog ......... make them slop out.
If they ask for sugar in their tea give them the choice of one lump or two![]()
At long last common sense!!!!
If I had anything to do with it....... Prisoners would get sweet FA..... apart from bread, a little cheese (if they are lucky as it is so bloody expensive these days) and water......just enough to keep them alive so that they can suffer the way there victims have been made suffer.......no exercise time...total lock down.....no visitors....... no rehabilitation because it doesn't work....no education....and no parole...

I think they should be forced to watch the most boring TV 24/7 as a punishment
Imagine all the ads, TV shopping, countryfile, eastenders, and many more![]()
So, 30 days and 12 days, which'll commute to 15 days and 6 days. Big deal. The law applies to them the same as everybody else, with or without disabilities. He knew he was breaking the law by doing what he did and has admitted it. I have no sympathy.
I have a life threatening coronary condition and if I never paid my TV license would I expect to get away with it. Would I f***. I pay mine and they should have paid theirs or done away with their TV. Simple.
