if you want andy i could send you the grip to try and then you can make your own mind up but its a lend only ...lol
Well I have the Sigma 10-20, and the Sigma 105mm Macro - I dont mind using "other" brands.I think everyone has different opinions and different experiences with bits.
Andy, the 18-70 is a superb bit of kit for the money, and tbh, if it isnt limiting you then dont get rid of it.
I use it for all the studio shoots that I do...and even for some of the wedding images - its a quality bit of glass for the money![]()
I use the D200 and DiddyDave uses a D2XS and we do notice the different in the image sizes, for what we can get on the same 4gb memory card...but other than that....the quality tends to be on par...
same here d200 and D2h same quality different size....????
The d2h had a very different type of sensor that offered pretty good image quality for it's 4mp. It's noise handling was just as bad as the D200 though!![]()

My offer is to you also
I dont mind lending stuff out

That's bloomin' fine of you kind sir! Appreciate the offer but I wouldn't dare. Think it would be one of those things where you would be so careful something was bound to happen!
Andy_fozzy I hope you are enjoying that D200. All I did with my 300 was read the manual, take some pictures from the sofa and get frustrated that things were not as easy to find as my D70s menus! ...and I had a D200 for a year or so whilst I was working away and still the 300 confuses me! The manual seems rubbish...instead of explaining anything it just seems to be one of those manuals that tells you 'When you set the button to 'off' said function will be off, when you switch to 'on' said function will be on! grrr...
Sigma lenses...well I have a 12-24mm Ex. It's very nice and sharp with nice colour and contrast. Couldn't afford the Nikon 12-24 and it will also go on a full frame if I move up. It's very well built and bloomin' big but I don't think bigger than the Nikon.
Enjoy that D200. I really enjoyed mine when I had it and it was a sad day when I had to give it back. I was hoping it would be a leaving gift! I found it a lovely feeling camera, quick, good autofocus and generally good metering although pictures always often needed a tweak. All the best.
