WOOOOHOOOO :woot:

She's arrived!
My D200 has arrived safe and sound, and in pukka condition!

I've got a huge smile today. She's a beaut

:woot:

Enjoy it Andy they are a superb bit of kit I got mine from whitey and its the best £400 I have ever spent

have you got any lenses and if not I can lend you a 70-210 apo till you can afford one:thumbs: or a 28-70 nikkor

Yay! Go Nikon. I always fancied a D200 but ended up with the D80.

Have fun with your new toy - shame the weather's not a bit better for you.

Looks like he has taken it for a test drive ....hope its not raining as hard down there as it is here

Top bit of kit! I dropped mine yesterday, it was only about 2ft from the ground but not a mark on it, and still going strong!

True TP spirit, i applaud that person for their warm heartedness.
:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I think a lend forum would be a good idea .... lend less fortunate members a lens for a few days or weeks and borrow one as you need could be a good way of trying kit out before buying

You're only saying that cos I've got a D3 and 200-400mm now....:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Bu*%ger, test time. How much do I care about fellow toggers...

Ok. You can use them for the day if I'm out with you! ;)

Kev.

I'm equally chuffed, just travelled 70 miles and back to get my D300 from Cannockwolf. Looks superb condition and boxed, but equally frustrated by the weather. Will replace my D70s when I am ready. Awful driving on the mortorways too, loads of spray and standin water...

I dont mind lending stuff out

That is a stunning gesture DM.
I'm speechless mate, really I am.......
Thankyou very much indeed

I've got the 18-70 DX, and my next lens purchase will be March most likely.

I'll get back to you about the loan.
It's going to take a few months at least to read the manual, and suss out how to use the baby

Thanks again, you are a proper gent.
(And I think a loan section is a CRACKING idea....)

Have fun with the D200, and that 18-70 Nikkor will go just nicely with that:thumbs:

enjoy its good bit of kit just a shame weather so bad :(

Well we've had a very busy day.
Had a little play with my new toy, but not for long :(

The seller actually turned out to be really good, including a decent 1gb CF card for good measure.

This is a full on camera, with SOOOOO many settings

As soon as the baby settles down (and the Mrs gets into X Factor :gag: ) me and my new baby shall get to grips a bit more........

:D

welcome to the Nikon fold.

Always a worry when people change brand, but you were focused and looked straight past them canon things:naughty::naughty::naughty:

Can someone please advise me here......

What are the little black triangle bits for where you attach the neckstrap

Welcome to the D200 club

And a great gesture by our fellow TPer

Enjoy it my friend, I think you will love it :woot:

Do you mean the little clips around the triangular chromed eyelets? If so, they just stop the eyelet from rotating and stop the strap from bunching.

Yep, that's the one!
Ok makes sense now!!
(I'm a bit of a thicko you see :bonk: )

Thanks mate, already loving this beauty of a camera!!

gonna burst my own bubble ...just played with the D200 and D2H and the D2H simply blows the D200 away for some reason 4.1mp 10.1mp someone help me

Do you use sigma ex and what are they like is it worth the extra dosh:shrug:

I had a Sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro EX lens for a while on the Sony.
Blooming nice bit of kit. Pin sharp, built like a tank.
If I could afford it, I'd have an EX every time

Nice purchase! I know a police photographer who uses one, its a great bit of kit.
THat 18-70 is a good lens too, I have that on my D80 :)

if you want the same grip let me know as its only 50 quid delivered

Heres Petes 2 babies

Well I have the Sigma 10-20, and the Sigma 105mm Macro - I dont mind using "other" brands. :) I think everyone has different opinions and different experiences with bits. :)

WAHEEY!!
I'm really liking the 18-70 DX lens.....
I was planning to sell it on and trade for a better model, but tbh, I don't think I will!!

Andy, the 18-70 is a superb bit of kit for the money, and tbh, if it isnt limiting you then dont get rid of it.
I use it for all the studio shoots that I do...and even for some of the wedding images - its a quality bit of glass for the money

Images are slightly different in size but quality is same and the 2h does lots morer than the 200 could do but me weapon is still the D200 with its grip....more like a 2x:thumbs:

I use the D200 and DiddyDave uses a D2XS and we do notice the different in the image sizes, for what we can get on the same 4gb memory card...but other than that....the quality tends to be on par...
