there's quite a few photo opportunities in whitby but it's a little different to the busstle of scarborough in summer
i go to scarbourough quite a lot in the summer with the family for the odd day out when the weathers good i always take a camera for the usual family snapshots and the occasional scenery photo but having a family of mainly young girls there wasn't the same attraction in whitby although photo wise i would say it's a better place
I live in Scarborough and know Whitby very well, shout up if there is anything I can do to help. Enjoy your trip.
Enjoy!! Hope the weather is good. Remember have some fish and chips![]()
The good thing is it's all fairly compact and you can walk almost everywhere in the old part in a day.
Walking out along the (west) pier is worthwhile, the older east side has the best little alleys and cottages - and the Abbey and steps.
There's a really good view from the 'new' road bridge but can't stop in a car there usually.
Thanks for the heads up...I'll be parking up and on foot. If you know the town, anywhere cheap for all day/evening parking??
Over-rated, tourists onlyMagpie Cafe for the fish and chips !! Best fish and chips I've ever had !!

I've often thought of sleeping in my car but at 6ft not a comfortable prospect ! lol
Iff u like the quiet side some good places st the bottom of robin hoods bay you have to leave your car at the top and walk down once you've droped off your bags three nice pubs we stopped at the bay hotel last time u can't get any closer to the sea and the food is spot on
Can anyone suggest a good overnight stopover in the Whitby area? TOH and I were thinking about a weekend trip later in the year.
