Ideally as a sports photographer in the motorsports world, ideal bikes.

I sit infront of a PC all day pretending to do work and earning b****r all :D

OK, officially, the cover story is I work for a bank, 9.00 - 5.00. Spend most of the day troubleshooting other people's problems and finding solutions for ones that haven't happened yet!

In reality, pretty much the same. But occasionally I get let out on corporate days. Oh and I'm usually in the office from about 6.30 browsing this forum.

Tech support for a very large and prestigeous mobile phone providor. They sub-contract their support to the company i work for.

Student bum. Just finished a 2 year National Diploma in Art and Design came out 2nd from top in my class YAY! This year just started a Foundation in Art and Design, hopefully to specialise in photography. Then go to Uni and study Photography or Graphic Design and Art Direction. Then after that drown in debt.

Got into photography because of my dad, he used to take pictures of dirt bike races and then sell them. He doesnt do any photography anymore which is a shame.

Also just got my first DSLR. YAY!

Been in the Army for nearly 12 years, currently working in Imagery Analysis and about to be posted to work with the USAF in Las Vegas to work on Predator UAV.

I illustrate kids books & do graphic design stuff. I also work for an events photography company at weekends.
Have made it my new goal to make enough from photography to stop my illustration though so expect lots of business orientated, (exciting) questions from me in the near future

you lucky.......

I was an IA back in the days when PIs became IAs ;)

I take it you're greenfly?

Run my own energy consultancy business. We help businesses sort out things like their procurement, energy efficiency, carbon footprint, all that sort of stuff.

I'm an IT consultant with a multi national IT services company, technically I'm an Information Architect but that normally solicits a "Huh?" from everyone so I tend to stick to IT consultant. My speciality is in enterprise scale data management so big boxes (multi terabyte databases) and high transaction rates (millions per minute). It's one of those jobs that can be extremely dull until something breaks and then it starts getting.....interesting.

Photography is the stress relief.

I am a Quality Manager for a large domestic insurance company by day - when it comes to spare time (hardly ever) I enjoy animals, dogs, tortoises & photography.

Photography - well - am just starting out really ;-)

Freelance photographer - just coming to the end of year 36 at the end of this month! Nowadays I do a bit of web stuff as well.

Im an hgv artic driver, :)[S4]I love Nikon[/S4]

Manager at an EDA company (we sell IC design software), Photography has always been a minor hobby but looks like turning into a major one - wife permitting.

what a fantastic resource of specialist knowledge and experience ! don't suppose there is an Accountant amongst us lol ? swop you for laptop refurbishment or Building Survey ...

IT / Office Manager for a babywear and childrenswear company. Trying to push the company to improve their photos by using my gear instead of taking photos of garments on the floor!

Weekend warrior doing photos for MotoGB.Net and SMRacing/Aprilia UK. Did event photos for Marathon-Photos.Com last year but not this! Might do some football/equestrian photos next year for a local photographer once I'm happy with my Mk3.

Might try to do all our new seasons garments, about 500 garments!!!

Carl

VP of Web Technology (whatever that means) for a UK based Malware research/Anti-virus company but I tend to have my hand in pretty much everything: Online payment systems, ASP, SQL development, data centre design and build, the list goes on....

First got in to photography via my dad at a very young age. He was a very accomplished amateur photographer who dabbled in a bit of pro work when time allowed. I used to love the darkroom work and the excitement of seeing the end results. Saying that, the techie in me would never go back to film :)

In all honesty I'd love photography to play a bigger part in my life as I literally spend all day every day on call with work, I can't see it changing for a good while though :(

Great idea for a thread - i enjoyed reading that (though it did distract me from work for a while, oops)

I'm a Student Support Mentor at a sixth form college but go part-time in a couple of weeks as I'm starting a Masters in Health Psychology (eek) Photography is something I've always been interested but I've mostly just enjoyed other people's photography. Now I have my lovely DSLR and I think it is going to keep me sane when I'm drowning under a pile of essays!!!

I'm a live events producer (conferences) and I spend my time traveling the world, wearing a headset and shouting cues at technicians. (I'm typing this while on a break at a meeting in Athens).

Other jobs I have had include:
Web designer
Senior Art Director for McCann Erickson Advertising
Video Producer
Photography Tutor (college level)
Piano player in a strip club (long time ago)

I'm also a qualified Masseur

I feel I'm in the company of an elite band here. To think we even have an astronaut amongst us. :suspect:

We seem to cover most careers.

Is there a doctor in the house

Im interested to know what everyone does on a daily basis - are most people who post here photographers?

If not, how does your photography fit into your life - is it a hobby, is it a huge hobby which threatens to take over ;)

Also, if you are a photographer - how did you get into it and did you study at college?

Im just nosy really :)......but really interested!

thanks in advance
Sharon

Now it's my time to be curious, what do you do Sharon and how does 'toging fit into your life. :)
