Done - ran out of room for list of camera brands I've got

Filled in - after a fashion. Interesting to know what they make of my owning 35mm cameras but not using them. I might have hoped that the different sizes of sheet film might have merited being distinguished.

Done, albiet with a certain amount of apprehension.
Not convinced that the outcome of these types of surveys are actually beneficial tbh as they can lead manufacturers to scrap certain lines and increase prices.
Let’s be honest they are designed for nothing more than to ‘read’ the market and increase profits.

:agree:, but my request for new kit was the return of Quickloads / Readyloads and that will never happen. I think there might be a case for them in larger sheet sizes, especially when you see the price of an 8x10 DDS.

Yeah can be a double edged sword

I vaguely recall there was a discussion on APUG years ago involving Harman on this question.

I have enough 10x8 film holders, but it's the bulk and weight that concerns me most. If I didn't already have holders, it would be a different matter though.

Hmm . . . I don't like surveys and never do them, but as I like Ilford products etc. decided to complete it to help them. (y)

Done although I wasn't happy it wouldn't let me not put my age group in.
I think that may be to differentiate between diehard older customers and the hipsters who may turn out to be the longterm future of the company, so I answered honestly.

Yes I also noticed that the options available were purely for old grumps :exit::LOL:

You may have been categorised into old grump if you admitted to printing before digital.

Well this ‘miserable old grump ‘ ( yet to be categorized :p) is now disappearing into the depths of his darkroom to play with ilford products:naughty:

The final question was the doozy

I can see why they left that till last, no swear filter either......

They've always got to get the inclusivity thing in. Didn't bother me overly, because I'm okay with what I am. Although the question about how many cameras did I own made me smile. I honestly don't know. But I've definitely got GAS. :D

Wonder how long before they make me some B&W slide film? :D

It was really good of you to post this thread, but I was just wondering how you came to hear of this, since I get regular emails from Ilford yet no hint of this.
I was browsing their website and its on the homepage

There can’t be much of a market for that since it’s so easy to use negative film for the purpose.

The "problem" with normal black and white films is that the base isn't completely clear. There is at least one film where this isn't the case, and the marketing makes mention of its suitability for reversal. I would imagine that even if a reversal black and white film were to be made, finding someone to process it would be problematic, since the processing would presumably be neither E6 nor conventional black and white - unless a colour slide film were made without any colour dye couplers incorporated. Given the need for non standard processing, using a conventional black and white film seems to be actually the same thing as a purpose made slide film.

TLDR: as well as a reversal processing kit, they mention ADOX Scala, Fomapan R, and decent results from CMS 20, Rollei Retro 80S and 400S.

That’s what I used to do (1960s-ish) but using the basic chemicals (I worked I biochemical lab and we used lashings of dichromate for cleaning — hot stuff especially with conc sulphuric acid added  ). I didn’t have any problems with the base colour which I think my then wife would have picked up on. There was Agfa Dia-direct then which I did use but it was pricey with the included processing etc.
