Hmm... Not sure how Daryl can dislike re-enactment photos but like ones of women with guns and swords. Come to a re-enactment and you will find me there with both ( in leather and steel and on a large horse). :-)

For me it has to be racing car photos at a funky angle - they give me a crick in the neck!

guilty of lots of these... and my cats love me!

never comment on studio / model shots.. no interest in them, of course some are better technically than others but have seen too many of the provocative secretary popping out of her blouse with pencil in mouth.. scantily clad woman pointing a gun.. etc etc.. not for me

not sure about the current trend of urbexing men in gas masks either ;)

explore seems to like creepy dolls with big eyes and trout pouting teens too..

Lots of milky dislikes here, which is no surprise, but I'm definitely guilty of that one. It always known as milky but i think its more smokey, and i'm quite fond of a mono minimalist landscape with a bit of milky water. This is what the threads are all about. It would be very boring if we liked the same things. We all strive to do something different, but this is almost impossible, that's why its so amazing when you do something original.

I'm not smiling in my avatar, but i promise i'm not trying to look badass! :)

I have only one serious dislike (as far as photographs go anyway!). That is cars. A car is a car is a car is a car. They all look the same to me with four wheels connected by tin.

(Unfortunately, I have to take car pictures sometimes).
 
For me HDR does my head in! why spoil a good pic!!!!!!!!!!

Daryl, I'm ECW rather than Roman so can't help there, but if you happen to be near Blenheim Palace late May Bank Holiday I can promise lots of women with weapons. :-)
 
1. Sunsets/rises with no other point of interest... just sunsets/rises. Why?
2. Any shot of Durdle Door. Give it a rest now... they all look the same.
3. over tonemapped HDR images. They just look like hell.
4. Light painted orbs. Seen one, seen 'em all.
5. Light trails.. just a road.. with light trails.
6. Most children pics.

I think I'd be quite happy to never see another example of any of that lot.

Oh and on topic, one thing I could live without seeing again is massively exaggerated star trails, yes, the earth spins 360 degrees, a little trail I don't mind, but not massive trails
 
For me, my pet hate is family photography. I can't stand it. I'm talking about the identical shots of smiling parents and children against the blown-out white background.

Reason I can't stand it is because it seems to require zero skill, talent, or creativity.

Other things I can't stand are watermarks on photographs, HDR, glamour photography of any kind, cheap skin smoothing, excessive contrast in portraits, black and white headshots, almost all natural light portraiture, anyone who claims to "specialise" in natural light, the lame car photography that 'enthusiasts' do with the cars at 45 degree angles, almost anything shot with a shoot through umbrella. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Totally agree, I spend all day with cars, the last thing I want to see is a picture of another car.

Also to add:
Heavily processed images, (ironic given a few of my latest attempts at HDR) thinking of giving that up and just shelling out on filters :-)

Altered images, you all know the ones. Those where things have been added, one that jumps to mind was a pirate galleon ship with the waves created from a flat sea using Liquify

Light trails. All the same. No originality. Boring.

That's the only one really. In my opinion, all, or most of the other types of photography in this thread can be original in some way, even pictures of bendy newborns. But light trails? No. Boring, boring, boring.

That's better - it can all get a bit messy when I am forced to bring my weapons into play and bloodstains are so tough to get out of leather :-D
