There's lots of photo subjects out there, some I love, some I can take or leave.

Some I just don't get.

Football :lol: one of the few things that I really cannot understand people wanting to bother with, works both ways though as the football photographers would probably think the same about the things I like :lol:

Silky, wispy, candy floss style waterfalls. They look fake and unnatural.

I was going to say, I couldnt really think of anything, but in hindsight I'm thinking pets is probably a good one! I cant stand dogs, and people who want their pet immortalised are just slightly creepy and unbalanced IMO!

I love silky waterfalls! Show me more!
 
It's all good. I love to see how people develop their style and shots, each person tells a different story through their collection of images going forward.

For example, you might start shooting kittens at home, and the odd dog in a field. 5 years down the line, you could be the next great nature photographer.

The paths people on the forum take fascinates me.

Therefore, I like it all. Just wish I had more time to see them all.

Sunsets - not composed pictures using the lovely light and scenary available but those that are snapped without a tripod, aiming straight at the sun, with a bit of sea underneath which you are forced to sit and look at by your mates when they've come back from your average Spanish tourist resort!! :D

I've often thought of it with dogs! Nothing worse than a nice walk interupted by some mutt jumping up at you and scaring the crap out of you! Should be shot at birth! ;)

BTW... your kitten pics were probably an exception :)

Haha, I take no offence - seriously :D But I do remember the support, and confidence boost I got when I posted. I am at this moment, not really interested in shooting pets, I might be again, but for now, I am past it. Thing is, it was a valuable and enjoyable part of my developing hobby, I cannot wait to see where I eventually end up!

Car and bike racing. I love cars and I love bikes.

But the endless shots on the track... specially at the same corner with different coloured bikes as they each go round.... :shrug:

This is a bizarre thread. Surely a photo taken of any subject can captivate you depending on it's content/context/composition etc.?

I'm not a massive fan of many of the bird pictures on this forum (not to say they aren't great pictures) but once in a while there will be one posted that I think is amazing (like the diving Kingfisher shot). For that reason I wouldn't ever say "If I never saw another photo of ........ it would be too soon".
 
I really can’t justify picking a particular subject/type of shot as each are individual and therefore there is always something different to see, be that good or bad.

Saying that, I do dislike shots of hairy overweight naked Scotsmen participating in underwater caber tossing, really does annoy me!

Sport shots in general bore me unless they are exceptional

Most Street stuff, as it's just snapping people - though I am beginning to appreciate it done well

Snaps - images that appear to have nothing at all going for them, which makes it very hard to post a positive comment :lol:

And anything by AliB - but that's just jealousy

Don't worry, my thinking cap is on. BTW, rules for the "Challenge Accepted Club", you can NEVER reject or fail as doing so makes you sub human scum, and feeding you to the pigs would be too good...

Therefore, I have no choice but to be victorious! Only reason I actually have a camera, is down to michael sending me a photo of a dragonfly and saying "Challenge Accepted". I kid you not!
