If I never saw another photo of........ it would be too soon.

Dogs, I wouldn't even mind if I never saw another dog in real life again.

For all the talk of photographers rights, I've found the common dog to be far more of a hindrance to my photography than any govt. official. They are ALWAYS in really picturesque places at the best times of day...and 90% of owners don't give a darn about what they are up to. As somebody who has a genuine fear of dogs, I hate that many owners will just let them run up to you, jump up, slobber over you etc, I don't think I've ever had an apology.

Rant over....calm down. Other than that, over-processed HDR, worse thing to happen to digital photography in my opinion.

Kids.

They might be the prettiest thing in the world to you. Don't mean to say I gotta think so too!

Not a lot left then is there, I guess we should all sell out gear now.

I dunno. We're all still here and this is the 2nd time I've seen this thread popup. I reckon we'll be ok. HDR will still take place. People will still be trapped in their gardens photographing birds and flowers in the hope that one day someone realises that they lost the key and frees them from their prison. People who've just bought their camera from Jessops will still ask the guy selling the big issue if he wants his wedding done as he'll be a fully qualified wedding photographer now. Matt Sayle will still stand on a hill spinning round and round and round till he's firmly in the ground doing motorsports. I reckon things are going to be alllright.

Any image that's been 'improved' by turning it to HDR :gag: (although it makes me appreciate an actual HDR image all the more when they do turn up on the rare occassion lol)

Erm.....ok :D Are you slightly confused?

You hate the process, but enjoy the image?

Failing to grasp this concept :D

Damn lone tree backed by a stormy sky at the edge of a freshwater lake, sick of them. ;) Oh and those damn kingfishers

Hang onto it for a wee while Frank....nobody's mentioned breasts yet !

Bob

I think this thread is ace, I've been laughing quite hard at everyones pet peeves and comments like Bob's have made my day. There is some seriously comical stuff here, I guess that it's the way it's all worded, I dunno, it's really tickling me, It's quite fair enough too, one persons medicine is anothers poison.

This is comedy gold, so play nicely, I sincerely hope it doesn't get :lock:

but but but I just bought a white backdrop!
CURSES.

Project some colour onto it! I saw a great bit of video showing a guy firing a strobe with a blue filter on the front through a pile of glasses to create this brilliant background on the white backdrop. It looked fantastic! I think it was on the Strobist DVD actually.

If I never see another portrait shot, whilst the naked model stroking her pet is sat on the bonnet of a badly positioned car next to a 'misty' river with a kingfisher diving into it, taken at sunset with star trails over Oulton Park and then HDR'd it will be too soon ......

Gosh darn it! I was just about to say that! :D

There's just no pleasing some is there?!

*removes chapter from HDR book* Fine then :p

Bamburgh Castle. From the beach. Sunrise/sunset...who gives a ...
Always the same shot, almost every month in at least one photo mag. I don't think anybody has ever seen the other side of it, or got a closer picture than from 500 yards away.

That's a shot I see almost every day. When will togs learn to move on from that one?

Oh.. selective colour images. Take a crap image, turn it black and white and then add a smidgen of colour. Yawn..

Oh, and that boathouse on Ullswater, enough already.

Most genres of photography get tedious once you've seen 5+ pages of a certain type of subject. Like I know an exotic pet keeper, into macro photography, really clear and well composed but once you've seen 15+ pages of close ups of praying mantises, stick insects, flies and other insects you want to tear your own ears off, well I do. Some subjects just like substance & emotion which gets annoying.

Ok now we know what everyone hates, how about what everyone wants to see but its never shown on TP.

Free printable coupons for unlimited free camera & lighting equiptment, oh and cake.

White background portraits. Get the hell outside! You've got an entire planet to play with.

I totally agree here - why on earth pamper to all those stupid clients who think this is better than a HDR shot of a Liverpool dock skyline

The (paying lots of £s) pillocks

It is so annoying that the general public think such shots are good - if only they'd realise otherwise it'd make everyones (Venture's lives) so much simpler

Oh well - some of us have to pamper to the brain dead I suppose

:D

I'm surprised no one has said Santorini yet :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Haha so easy :D Fish in a barrel.

Sad thing is I love those HDR shots of Liverpool (anywhere HDR is done well), just waiting for you to move to Staines and make that look good - now that's a challenge

Book # 3 ???

There's lots of photo subjects out there...

What, you mean we can actually use all this shiny camera gear to take actual pictures of stuff? I thought it was all just for show.

Better go read the manual, find out how this damn camera works I suppose...

Sport shots in general bore me unless they are exceptional

Most Street stuff, as it's just snapping people - though I am beginning to appreciate it done well

Snaps - images that appear to have nothing at all going for them, which makes it very hard to post a positive comment

And anything by AliB - but that's just jealousy

DD

Ha ha ha!

I just found this one and had a good laugh.

Guilty as charged, I've got pets, kids and cars on here so where the heck does that leave me? :help: At least I don't have any silky water or HDR!

What do I not get into, well, not much so long as it's well done but I have to admit that I don't really get into the motorsport stuff (sorry Matt!)

Oh and most of DiddyDaves stuff :p (is it coz I is jealous?)

I'm going to have to be honest and say heavily processed HDR images tense me up.
Doesn't mean that I will avoid them like the plague as I have come across some HDR processed images which was pleasing to the eye, but only if it's done well or in a more subtle way.

My favourite subjects are night time shots (the longer the exposure, the better) and I'll never tire of looking at low lying early morning/late evening misty shots. Lovely. :)

Birds (the winged type) i just don't like them unless it's an unusual exotic type, and cats i hate bloody cats at the best of times let alone seeing photos of them, but i guess lots of people love there pussys :D

It's easy enough to stay out of the bird forum ;)

LMAO yes it didn't make much sense what I wrote looking back :D

What I mean is, I HATE LDR images that are fed in to software to create what the owner then thinks is a HDR image.

The refreshing images are the ones that actually contain a high dynamic range (i.e. bright detailed highlights with dark but detailed shadows) yet look like they were a regular single exposure...kinda like how the best special effects in films are the ones you didn't notice.
