thanks, its natural lighting. i wanted to experiment with washed out colour, not b&w, just heavily desaturated. i think i overdid the contrast which has given it an odd cast and emphasised the freckles...

i am pleased with the look but i will process less next time...lesson learn't :)

thanks. it is dark, i upped the contrast and darkened it to make it more of a silhouette type appearance...

thats a great candid spot ian.. in two minds about the bin.. is a bit distracting but then again it adds to the gritty feel overall ;)
 
thanks...the annoying thing about the bin is that it was there, in the bloody way! if you crop it you lose the street sign...

moon shots dont do much for me really but do like the shape and its nicely positioned in the frame :)

d40, sigma 70-300, 1600iso, 1/250th, f13, handheld, tidied in elements 6...looking at the exif data i realise i didn't set the iso at 200 as i intended, need to try this again...maybe when my d200 arrives :D

..i just love the swirling patterns in the leaves and petals of tulips, they seem almost surreal. it is reminiscent of van gogh and picasso...

thanks. the d200 feels superb! setting it up at the moment, there are a lot of focusing and metering options to explore and the menus are endless :bonk: compared to the d40. hope i will have time to get into it today...

thanks. as i said, there is a twisty swirly surreal thing going on that is brilliant :)

i think i am going to love this camera (even if it is a nikon!) once i have set it up :D

i like the fact that due to this project i am making pictures of things that i have not considered before. revelation! making pictures of plants is actually really cool...
