lol oh no now religion made its way into this
!
EDITED
Maybe we should all stop judging people and just accept their opinions and beliefs! As long as it doesn't affect you whats the problem?
The Simpsons said:Marge-"You know, Homer, it's easy to criticize"
Homer- "Fun too"
As an aside did anyone see John Barrowman on TV last night researching why he was gay? Really interesting programme and the latest research points to hormone levels in the womb. So it fit wholeheartedly with his own opinion that he was born gay.
So why on earth is it right to discriminate against someone on the basis of their sexuality, it's not like choosing a pair of socks!
I have friends who are same sex and I could no more turn my back on them as stop breathing.
I'm not even going down the religion route.

Look lets dig down and get to the real issue. My Nikon is clearly better than your Canon![]()
I wasn't going to get involved in this thread but now you have crossed the line!!
Seriously though.. Would you take a photo of 2 Nikons? or would it be more natural being a Nikon and a Canon?![]()
Now that is a very good question. Not sure the mounts of the Nikon and Canon would be compatible would they?!![]()

I personally would only shoot 2 canons.. i wouldnt like a nikon hanging on my wall at all![]()

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and it's natural to feel discomfort in something outside your norm. Opinion doesn't make you a bad person, actions do. (I'm not saying anyone here is a bad person)
On the other hand it is healthy to discuss our inadequacies. But perhaps this isn't the best place for it.

Not to sure on that one at all.. And I have found this thread to be a very interesting read..
I don't think the OP is a bad person, even though I don't agree with him. I'm impressed he started the thread. As am I impressed it's still open.
But opinions don't make you a bad person? Don't agree with that at all.
I have several same sex couple friends and the word "tolerance" (in respect of their relationships) really riles them. Not in any way having a dig at you Hacker, it just reminded meI have seen gross intolerance shown in support of tolerance
Who is John Barrowman? :shrug:As an aside did anyone see John Barrowman on TV last night researching why he was gay?
Actually I don't think this is the wrong place for it at all, it's healthy adult debate and long may it continue, even if at the end of the day people agree to disagree I won't think any less of anyone for holding an opinion. It's only natural![]()
I stated that I didn't think anyone here was a bad person especially the OP. With regard to opinion then I believe that to be true.
Using the subject of this thread as example; someone may feel strongly against gay weddings. Does that make them a bad person? No it doesn't. What would make them a bad person would be acting on that opinion and forcing it on others. e.g. protesting against them.
But opinions don't make you a bad person? Don't agree with that at all.
I have said this before and now seems a good time to bring it up again. I am a member of another photography forum... and it is a very different forum to this friendly place. I have stopped posting or participating in it's forums due to the very aggressive posts. Every post seems to degenerate into personal attacks and insult... I am thrilled to see that despite a potentially difficult topic, with the potential for major fall outs and upset, the forum and in particular this thread remains reasonable and above all friendly.

Agreed entirely, and well done to the moderators for letting this one run it's course![]()
I understand what you mean completely, I just feel that was too much of a sweeping statement. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Wether or not the opinion makes them a bad person or not is a different matter.
I sort of explained what I mean above, what if the opinion was "In my opinion all homophobes should be shot?"
I hate Gay Pride Parades and find them an insult , straight people don't parade they are straight so?
But that doesn't mean im going to go and shoot them all its just what i feel

Playing devils advocate here, surely the last part of the last paragraph means that Spudgunner is a bad person because he would not go to his cousins wedding. I must add that I in no way believe this is true and as said everyone is entitled to their views and I respect SpudGunner for standing by his belief and not going, even if I believe that it is wrong.
